So, let me tell you before I posted this I tried to contact the store directly not once, not twice, but three times. I also tried to get the store manager's email through the corporate office so I could contact the manager, who by the way, was incredibly nice but unable to offer any real assistance. Anyhow, we are new to the area and was looking for a place to ship my holiday packages. The front window of this Staples store indicated that they offer UPS services. I go to the store, lug in my packages, and place them directly underneath a giant sign which read UPS shipping here. The kid, Brandon, managing the front desk was finishing someone else's print order, and yelled something about drop off shipping from about twelve feet away. I didn't know what this meant because I'm a housewife and not a professional package shipper, and I said something like I need to ship. This seemed to appease Brandon, he finished his print order and then yelled at me again to move my two heavy boxes over to another terminal . . . a terminal not marked shipping but rather some random terminal that was not even turned on. So, I lug my boxes over there, and I am told to wait for the computer to warm up and then follow the prompts. Normally, when I pay a premium to ship through a retail service like UPS they do this for me, but at not at this Staples because they insist they are self service even though the sign out front indicates that I should not stress just UPS. So, this is new and unexpected, and before I go further, please be assured that I am too stupid to fill out automated forms and generally avoid computer use whenever possible. I'm just not that girl. Not a techie at all. Anyhow, I start to type in my information and I'm thinking I'm doing it correctly, but who knows since I'm old and can't close up very well without my glasses which I left in the car because I thought that this UPS center would be just like every other UPS center and would assist me with entering the information. But Brandon was too busy. So, I get to the end of the form which I "feel" like I've completed, hit submit, and get some sort of red warning. I can't read it but based on prior technological failures, I know it's no good. I have failed. So, Brandon is doing whatever Brandon is doing, not looking at me, so I yell across the store I can't see this, you'll have to submit this for me. Right, that's how he addressed me when I entered the store, by yelling across the technology shipping center, so I figured that's how he wanted me to address him. I'm new to the area, I've just moved and I need a few things. I think, well I'll get them here while Brandon unscrews up the computer shipping thing. The addresses are clearly marked on the package so this shouldn't be a problem. I go and get tape, envelopes, whatever and return to pay the shipping charges. I get there the information that I had typed in was gone. So, again, since Brandon wants to yell across the work station, I yell can I pay. The kid rolls his eyes and comes over and says something about just follow the prompts . . .blah, blah, blah phone number . . . follow the prompts. So, I try to explain to him that we are leaving over the holidays and if UPS can't ship these packages can they hold them at the facility? Brandon assures me they can not under any circumstances do this and no one has ever asked him anything like this before. I ask again, can they hold it at the main shipping center . . . blah, blah, blah, no we can't, we're not allowed to hold packages. I tell Brandon they've done this for me before so could I just leave your number (the Staples number) and then if anything happens you can tell them to hold it at processing and I'll pick it up when I return. For whatever reason, Brandon does not seem to understand that maybe people don't want hundreds of dollars of holiday presents left on their door when they are not home. Brandon goes back to the red letters which I can't read because my glasses are in the car and something, something phone number. And...

I attempted to upload a banner file to the Staples copy and print portal. The maximum file size for upload was 50 MB and my file was 48.2 MB yet upon uploading, I kept receiving an error message stating my file was over 50 MB and could not be uploaded. After an hour of switching browsers, attempting to upload different file types, and trying upload on a mobile device rather than desktop, I finally gave up and called the Staples Retail Store # 1223 located at 10850 Providence Rd, Charlotte, NC 28277
When I called in distress, Staples Print and Copy associate, Tom, answered the line and calmly listened to my dilemma. The solution he recommended was I visit the store with the file on a flash drive to have it printed. I asked when was a good time to bring the flash drive and he stated he would be in all day. Perfect! Except when I arrived to the store a few hours later, I realized I did so with the expectation it would be printed while I wait. When Tom asked if I could pick up tomorrow, my heart sank, my event was tomorrow!
I think he may have seen the look of horror on my face and asked if I could give him an hour and a half or two to work on the banner. I happily obliged and ran errands until I received a notification my order was done.
When I arrived to pick up my order, I observed Tom working with another customer to which he provided the same top notch customer service. Having reached a good stopping point, he retrieved my banner and made sure it had printed according to my liking. When it was time to process my payment, my coupon required an override. I opted not to use the coupon if it would cause an inconvenience, but Tom politely called a manager who promptly provided an override.
I am impressed overall with the quality of service I received as a Staples customer and I wanted management to be aware of the positive experiences Tom is delivering in his role. When time allows, please recognize him for a job well...
Read morespent nerves. an employee named Tom did not want to serve me and did his job reluctantly. snorted at me when I asked to show me samples of photo paper. Dude, it's your job, and if you don't like it, go home. after approving the size (which he did not tell me in numbers, but simply showed me printed paper as a sample), I asked how much it would cost ($25) and left. When I came to pick up my order in the morning, another employee brought me my giant size poster for $42, claiming that this was my order, because it was written so on her piece of paper, let me remind you that I did not indicate the size anywhere and did not sign anything. Behind her on the counter there was also my poster, but smaller in size, I asked her to show it to me, but she just threw it in the trash. I went to the manager to tell about this, when I returned, I discovered that my poster was not in the trash and she hid it. then my beloved Tom came and began to claim that I ordered exactly this size, then why does the smaller size cost $25, as you said yesterday, and I pay $42? Only with the help of the manager Jose and a very nice girl with curls (I didn’t remember her name) I managed to get my order. why should I give two hours of time, half of my nerves and liters of my tears to print 1 drawing?…I want a man named Tom to never work in the service industry again. this is the most terrible person, he hates his job, so give him a chance not to...
