Cold Stone Creamery — Restaurant in North Charleston

Terrible service. They weren't friendly at all and started with not even greeting us. I ordered a kids ice cream first- no problem there. My teen daughter went next and with two toppings just thrown on top of her ice cream we were pretty confused. I got mine next and again, ice cream went right into the bowl with the toppings about to be put on top. So I asked, "why are you not mixing the toppings in?". You know... on the cold stone made for mixing ice cream...... and the supervisor behind her says they don't mix in for kids. Well ok, but what about my teen and mine.... nothing else to be said then. I then watched the rest of "my" ice cream gets trashed instead of just putting it on top. The same thing happened to my mom's. She stated because she didn't want it to slide off. I went back to ask for a fresh cone since mine was stale. The supervisor refused because she had to take the other customers orders behind me. (Even with 2 people). I even said I can ask the customers if they mind waiting 1 minute before they order to get me a cone. She then said she wouldn't get me a new one because we've been very rude. She proceeds to leave the front, not taking the other orders for several minutes while she must have called her manager, because she came back with only 2 names wrriten down after several minutes. I then asked for a refund on the cone since I couldn't get a new one and she told me no several times. That I could come back tomorrow and get a refund from the other manager since I was so rude the whole time. Meanwhile in the background, my daughter is literally trying to mix in her toppings into her own ice cream inside her cone. She finally would give me a refund, while on the phone with someone, probably the manger, whispering and talking about me. Insane. Extremely disappointing experience. We've been to this location numerous times and have never encountered such poor customer service from any employee — until now. The short girl with the purple hat and big round eyes made our visit feel more like a burden than a treat.

They were out of more than half the ice cream flavors, which was already frustrating, but her attitude made it worse. We asked a few simple questions and were met with blank stares and annoyed facial expressions — like we were inconveniencing her just by being there.

She offered no help, no suggestions, and clearly didn’t want to be there. My daughter told her what size ice cream she wanted and still got something different. We didn’t even bother complaining because the whole interaction was already uncomfortable. Even her goodbye felt forced and rude, like saying it physically pained her.

To top it off, it appeared the store manager was in the back but didn’t bother to come out to assist, even though it was obvious the employee was struggling and customers had questions.

This place is supposed to be a welcoming, family-friendly spot, but that entire experience was the opposite. If customer service matters at all here, management needs to seriously reconsider who they allow to represent their business. We...

the service was terrible. the two girls working looked like they would rather be doing anything else than their job. you applied and signed up for the job so you should probably fix your attitude. you are sucking the excitement out of children who are excited to get their ice cream just because your irritated you have to do your job and that’s a shame and extremely embarrassing. two employees that should not be sitting and gossiping and mean mugging their customers. this is embarrassing on their behalf and the management, and to the management, you should take better consideration into who your hiring. i pray for the people working if they truly do despise their life as much as they looked and acted like they did. this is embarrassing. they should be lucky they have no received any form of physical confrontation due to the way they acted, the day they catch the wrong person, i pray for them and their terrible attitudes. if you have a terrible and miserable life, just say that, don’t apply for a job, and stay inside...
