Friendly's — Restaurant in North Haven

I used to love coming to this location but recent events will make me never come back, unless they contact me for a refund.

I ordered a dinner for my husband (who is disabled and cannot drive) and myself. I drive 20 minutes put of my way because we like Friendlys and wanted a decent dinner. I get there, tell them my name. And they tell me my order was just picked up my the guy that just walked out as I was walking in. I showed them my order and told them that I did not have anyone pick up my order with my permission. The manager told me that it's not her fault and to contact the app. She refused to make me new food, refused me a refund, and lied and said I would have to receive my refund through the app yet, there is absolutely so place in the app to make complaints. This manager was rude and acted like it was my job to chase the person that took my order and it was my job to fix this situation. The fact that I had to pay 66$ for 2 items (yes i ended up putting a new order in under a different name so the manager wouldnt spit in my good) over something that was not my mistake. The way the manager handled this was terrible and acted like she couldn't be bothered and acted like i was trying to get a free meal. If i wanted a free meal in the first place then i wouldnt have ordered and paid for the same food that was given away! Ifully expect someone to contact me somehow for a refund. This was ridiculous. Typical Friendly’s where we had no issues until one night my girlfriend and I tried to be seated at the bar counter for ice cream but we were denied, citing covid as a reason but we had been seated there a couple months before with no issue (an employee offered us the seat there.) The employees all became extremely defensive, angry, and unprofessional when I tried to explain to them that we had been seated at the bar a couple months before and I was looking for a valid reason as to why we couldn’t be seated this night. We were verbally attacked, disrespected, and basically ganged up on by the Friendly’s staff when all we wanted to do was sit down and have some ice cream at Friendly’s. Not only once, but multiple times we have been seated at the bar during the covid pandemic.

Friendly’s locations have been disappearing over the years and we have to go out of our way to find one nowadays. It’s unfortunate that this happened because we certainly will not be returning, despite how much we enjoy their ice cream sundaes. Employees bend the rules to their convenience and cite covid as an excuse. I will say, there is one waitress at this location that we LOVE, but it is not enough to have us return.

I’d be surprised if I even got a response from the Friendly’s team, and if I did; they’d probably come up with some excuse to cover their own bases. I don’t want to give up on Friendly’s, but with service like this I’m truly not surprised their locations are...

My party of 2 was turned away from the restaurant at 9:30 pm on saturday june 11th. We were told that the dining room was closed although the hours on google and the actual website say they close at 11pm. After standing and waiting to even be greeted by any of the workers for 5 minutes. As we stood there 3 people behind the bar stood staring at us as if they’ve never seen humans. Then 5 other workers proceeded to walk past us like as if we were not even there !! Nobody said anything to us! until after 5 minutes of standing there and being walked by a girl from behind the bar screamed that they were closed. The customer service here was horrible! and the fact that we were turned away from eating at a restaurant an entire hour and a half from before they closed !! Then to top it off!!! As we were turned away a party of 3 walked in behind us, as me and my party walked back to our cars we got in and looked at the windows and the party that came in behind us had been seated!! HOW IS THAT POSSIBLE OR OK? what made that party any better than mine ?? and i know they weren’t there or waiting for an open table because they were just pulling up and parking as we were getting out of the car ! The service there is absurd! I’ve also sent my complaint to the friendly service message and am waiting for my response! I am disgusted and will not...
