I had an amazing experience at McLain’s Market today! It’s my son’s birthday, and I wanted to find him the perfect cupcake. He’s not a fan of chocolate or peanut butter, so finding something special for him is usually tricky. After searching for local bakeries, I came across McLain’s, and they did not disappoint.

I ordered him a Celebration Funfetti Cupcake, which was absolutely perfect! It had sprinkles and circus animal cookies on top—his favorite. They also had boxes of cupcakes, so I grabbed a variety for the rest of the family to enjoy. Everything was reasonably priced, especially for how cute they looked and how amazing they tasted.

When I went to pick up my order, the service was exceptional. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with the warmest and most genuine smile, which I really appreciated. (There’s nothing worse than spending money somewhere and not even getting a “hello.”) I mentioned I also wanted a glazed donut, and the lady helping me just gave it to me because they were near closing. That small gesture of kindness was so thoughtful.

They let me know that one of the cupcakes I’d ordered wasn’t available, but they explained my options clearly and made the process so easy. I was very happy with what I chose as a replacement, and they even gave me an extra cupcake as a thank-you for being flexible. The entire staff was so kind, accommodating, and professional, which made the experience even better.

The shop itself is super cute, very clean, and has a wide variety of pastries and even lunch items. It’s clear that they are welcoming and inclusive of everyone. That kind of hospitality and genuine kindness really stands out and means a lot to me.

Yesterday I found myself at McClain’s after getting some rather devastating news. I was very upset but it wasn’t exactly obvious if you looked at me in the restaurant.

Anyway, every single employee at McClain’s was incredibly kind and courteous. No one of course knew the pain I was experiencing but there was so much compassion and positive energy that I appreciated it.

I called after hours and left a very tearful voicemail thanking them for being so kind on one of my worst days. I work in the helping profession and I know how much a simple thank you means to someone.

I woke up this morning to a voicemail from McClain’s sending their sympathies. I have never in my life had a business go so above and beyond for me. I grew up as a military kid so I am very well traveled. I feel so honored and grateful to be a part of this community. Growing up I never had a place I could call home because I moved every 2-3 years. I wish I could give this place 6 stars. We recently ordered a couple of the dessert charcuterie boards for our engagement party and I was so pleased with the way they turned out. They were beautiful and delicious! The service was incredible. Molly helped me submit my order and even added in plates, napkins and cutlery free of charge when I realized I had forgot to include them after the fact. The day of pick up the store manager, David, had called me when I was an hour late picking up the order due to me misunderstanding the pick up time. He waited after they had closed for over an hour so we could pick it up and even insisted on helping us load it into the car. I’ve always loved McLains because they go above and beyond to make you feel special every single time you walk through the door.
