I stumbled upon this restaurant while searching for a ramen spot near my area—didn’t feel like driving all the way to Chinatown for lunch. I’m glad I decided to give it a try! First impressions were great: the place is gorgeous, both inside and out. It's really welcoming and cozy, setting a great tone for the meal. They also have happy hour from 2-5 pm, but sadly, I arrived at 1 pm, so I missed out on that deal, though it did make me wish I could try more of the menu.
The service was fantastic. The staff was incredibly friendly, always checking in to make sure everything was going well, which added a nice personal touch to the experience.
Now, the food. I started with the Iidako Karaage for an appetizer, and wow—this was impressive! The baby octopus was perfectly crispy on the outside and tender inside, with just the right amount of seasoning and a flavorful sauce. It’s hard to get fried food right, but they nailed it here. I definitely recommend giving this a try.
For my main, I went with the Tonkotsu Black. I’m usually a fan of Tokyo-style ramen with that rich, creamy tonkotsu broth, but this place’s broth was different. It wasn’t creamy like I expected, but it was still amazing. What really set it apart was the addition of roasted garlic pieces on top of the usual garlic black paste. The roasted garlic packs a punch—one sip and you really feel it! The presentation was beautiful, too, which made the experience feel extra special.
There were a couple of downsides, though. The price is definitely on the higher side for ramen. Typically, ramen is an affordable meal, but here it’s a bit more expensive. I get it—there’s likely less competition in the area and the location itself probably contributes to the higher price. Another small downside was parking—it was a bit of a struggle to find a spot, even around 1 pm.
The last thing that was a bit of a letdown: they don’t have draft beer. For a restaurant that’s got great food and an overall fun vibe, I was hoping for a good beer on tap to go with my meal.
Overall, though, I had a great experience, and I highly recommend this spot to anyone in the Las Vegas area. If you can make it during happy hour, that’s the best time to sample more dishes. I’ll definitely be back, especially to try the bento...
Read moreI visited Yoshiharu Ramen on a Tuesday afternoon with a friend after we had mentioned our desire for Japanese ramen. This establishment came up as the highest rated within a 10 mile radius of my home. The establishment is decently sized with an array of seating for its patrons to choose from. It’s setup and decoration do assist in immersing yourself in the meal you will be served. We were immediately greeted and sat, as it was slow.
We had the gyoza and calamari to start. The calamari was sensational. We attest it to its batter. Crunchy, light and airy. The gyoza was decent. It wasn’t served with that brown, watery sauce that gyoza is normally is served with. They lost points on this for me. Additionally, they didn’t have ANY alcohol to serve even though their menu stated they had an array of alcoholic beverages to choose from. Also quite lackluster.
We each then ordered the Tonkatsu Spicy Miso. I somewhat enjoyed it but, the pork cutlets that it came with were overcooked with a high volume of fat. The vegetables it was served with didn’t taste as fresh as they could be. I could almost taste the refrigerator they sat in. The broth was decently balanced and at level 2 spiciness, quite enjoyable. I ordered an extra egg with mine as well as extra ramen and in total my meal with drinks and tip, was just under $50.
This place is a good stop if you’re in the mood for ramen and don’t have the desire to go to spring mountain road for something of a higher caliber. Their servers are attentive and kind. Top...
Read moreMy husband and I eat out frequently we do have a favorite Ramen spot but didn't want to drive that far, so I was pleasantly surprised to stumble across this place! I had high expectations because of the reviews, when we walked in it was pretty empty, but the overall experience here (maybe we caught them on an off day) was lackluster. The girl who originally brought us our drinks didn't come around much & didn't anticipate basic needs when you bring out drinks, Like straws, or extra cups with Ice, we just figured she took a break because when we needed refills we had to wave someone down. Our 1st dish that was brought out was just left on the table by another person who didn't speak or even look at us with an almost cold-like demeanor. Then we get the ramen, thank God our server changed because the 3rd server that came out was actually nice & even though I don't think our table was his to service per se' he was the only one who had some professionalism & seemed more customer-service oriented. Unfortunately both my & my husband's ramen came out lukewarm, bland & the meat in both of ours was grey looking, we just tried to make the best of our super awkward dinner. I had really high hopes for this place but it's easy to see why some places make it, and some places don't, I should've guessed that by how empty it was to begin with. You may have a better experience than my family & I did, but I definitely wouldn't return or...
