This is the WORST Flanigan’s location. Any 5-star reviews must be Flanigan’s employees desperately trying to increase their score on Google. I’ve been to this location 3 times in 3 years. This will be my last. Family members and friends have long stopped coming to this location. Anyone I’ve spoken to about Flanigan’s has WARNED me and suggested I stop coming to this location. Now, I can see why! Each time, it was/is worse than the last. We arrived shortly before 10 pm. The host seemed very new and slightly unprepared to handle guests alone. She was friendly and did what she was told. She sat at the party that walked in just ahead of us. When she returned, she told us there would be a 15-minute wait. Odd. The manager comes over, starts scolding her, and talks about me while I’m standing right there. “Did you tell him we’re in our last hour and we close at 11 pm?” “Did you tell him he can sit at the bar and wait?” “Did you tell him he could eat at the bar?” After the third rapid-fire question, I interjected, “We can sit at the bar. It’s fine.” I walked around the bar. Nearly all of the empty spots were dirty. Dirty bar tops. Wet chairs. Puddles on the floor. No two seats together. I walk back to the host stand, and the manager seems baffled when I tell him of my findings about his less than accommodating bar seating. I explain. I prefer to wait for a table. The security guard (Yes, that’s correct, and it’s the first time I’ve seen one at a Flanigan’s) opens the door, and we wait outside for our table. Flanigan’s need to spend less on St. Patty’s decor and more on keeping up their restaurants. This location is equally disgusting. When our table is ready, we’re sat in the dining room alongside the bar that’s about 1000 degrees with no air movement, and it smells like wood rot, burnt hair, and skunked beer! Yum! The server approached quickly. I told her I was very uncomfortable with how warm it was in here. She said there was nothing she could do. To add insult to injury, there’s a dusty Irish flag haphazardly tied to the (already too low) hanging light blocking my partner across from me. We ordered our pitcher of beer (which arrived warm without cold glasses) and nachos (which arrived stale and soggy, flavorless, and cold.) we had to beg for silverware and napkins, and we never got the sour cream we were told we’d receive. We also ordered 10 wings (which arrived overcooked and dry) which were horrific and inedible. Wings should not be like they were put into a food dehydrator. We ate a few and abandoned the rest. My Diet Coke was the only thing I was clinging to, and even that didn’t taste like Diet Coke, probably a knock-off brand. The server was super friendly but could not salvage this awful meal. We paid and left and didn’t bother to use the ToGo box I asked for. We didn’t finish anything we were served. I spent $40, and all I ate were a few chips, 1 wing, and half a beer. I would not bring my worst enemy to this location. I don’t know what’s wrong. But I heard the manager having words with someone else, and all he kept saying was, “that’s Flanigan’s policy.” Regardless of any policy, this location needs to lock the doors and start over. A few moments before we were about to leave, someone threw on the work lights. The whole room was filled with bright white floodlights like Planet Fitness! It’s absolutely unnecessary and uncalled for. They wanted us to leave, and that wasn’t a problem. AVOID THIS STORE. I’m reasonably confident no one will miss...
Read morePoorly managed location. Four of us went for an early dinner last night (arrived before 5PM on a Thursday night - place was pretty empty). Server was very pleasant and helpful with the menu description. Three of us received our meals in a reasonable amount of time. My meal (half rack of ribs + fries) was not delivered.
After 5 minutes, server finally checked on us. She went back in kitchen to check on my order and then told us food would be out in one minute. 5 minutes later, still no food. Eventually, a manager was checking on tables and asked us if everything was okay. We explained that we were still missing food. She said she would check. She returned after a few minutes and said the food would be out in 3 minutes. Another 5 minutes go by, we ask her to check again (once we find her). A few minutes later she brings the food (this is now almost 20 minutes since everyone else at the table has gotten their food and is almost finished eating), but the order is not correct. It's a baked potato instead of fries. I explain that it's wrong and she says 'well, the ticket said baked potato'. Instead of bringing me the fries I ordered or just taking the baked potato back and bringing me the fries, she insisted on taking the whole platter back. So again, I have no food for a few more minutes. When the food finally arrived, it was decent, but I was a bit too irritated to really enjoy it.
We got an it's no big deal 'I'm sorry' from the server and the same from the manager. No explanation or offers to make up for the delay. We were rarely checked on and server never even asked us if we wanted dessert. [There were other small oversights with the items others had ordered, but the server never really checked]. It did get very busy by the time we were finishing, but hardly anyone was there when we ordered. So can't blame it on the size of the crowd. This is not how you treat your customers if you want to keep them coming back. Even after the long delay, the manager could have made this right.
It's a shame because we recently had a wonderful experience at the Flanigan's in Deerfield Beach. We will still try other Flanigan's locations but will never go back to...
Read moreI go to Flanigans in North Lauderdale alot due to working for the City and my drive is not far and the prices for lunch are good. I have always had good service and food. Today I called and the girl said 10 minutes. When I got there there was another man waiting angry and she said to him we had a $600 order come in so about 15 min. He stated u told me 15 min when I called and now another and I am on break. I said so am I and was told the same. When my food did come out after a 10 min drive plus 17 min wait in the lobby, the fries were super cold. I realized when I got in my car to pull out the lot. I called back and u-turned. The girl at the cash register took them back and then came back in about 4 min with more. I said these are not hot, they just as cold and demanding management. The general manager (Rachel, I think) came out with a nasty look. I explained my issue she stated "you wanted well done and they are". I said "yes that is true but I also came back for hot fries and these are cold as the first". She got rude and said listen I just cooked these so do you want a different side? I said no i want hot fries. She said this how they will be so what do you want. I said just give me a refund. She got nastier and said ok give me back the chicken sandwich also then slung all the food in the trash and went to get my refund, shorting me 8 cents on top of that. My total was $10.68 & she gave me $10.60 but I left. I am very UPSET because not only was I now 20 min late back to work but also stuck with no lunch until I'm off at 5pm. Courtesy would have been let me refund you and just keep the sandwich at least. Another manager Don came up as she was giving me change and he did not apologize for any issue or smile either. The good has been good always before but service always been a 3 of 10. Today it was a hard 1 of 10. I will make a business complaint as well regarding...
