UPDATE: My Husband and I headed out to go on a special date to celebrate and would have gone to Crazy Hibachi BUT with our last experience and reading all of the other bad reviews since we were there it refreshed us of our experience we had and we will be going to Benihani's.
My husband and I have ate at Crazy Hibachi for years and we have thoroughly enjoyed the hibachi grill but this visit will be our last. I am thinking they must have changed hands or management but last night, will be the last time. We came to celebrate his birthday. In our last visit we experienced a child that did not like the hibachi grill experience, screamed constantly, cried the entire time and we we're looking for a nice quiet evening to enjoy his birthday. We have asked before and had good results about seating at an adult table and the lady who seated us said, yes she could accommodate that and went ahead and seated us. After we got our drinks and we begin to placed our order, another lady informed us they cannot seat us without children present at our table while another lady was bringing in a couple with a small child to set across from us. We should had left but didn't. I won't do that again at any restaurant again. Then a chef came out and told us again. We should have left then. It was never a issue in the past, they just always seated couples with children together and then ones without when we had asked but again they must have changed management or ownership because this was the first time they told us they wouldnt accommodate that. We were looking for a quiet, relaxing, great meal and time together. Although this child did pretty well, the food and entertainment was terrible, our worse experience. The chef was enabled to get any of his tricks to work, the Volcano onion and the egg. He could not stack them even after 4 tries, and the Volcano onion he could not get it to light. The food portion was absolutely terrible. When he made the fried rice, the white rice he used was real mushy stuck together. He scrambled eggs in it with egg shells included. It had huge chunks about the size of a golf ball of white rice in it that did not get mixed in. It also had no flavor. Unbelievably bad. So disappointed because I craved the fried rice there and was looking so forward to enjoying it. Next he started the vegetables and we received a very small portion of vegetables. The carrots and zucchini were sliced so thin, you could see other vegetables through them. He did use alot of butter so the vegetables did have a flavor. He did serve us dipping sauces which helped drastically. Next he cooked each meat one by one. First new york strip, the filet mignon, shrimp then chicken. I had teriyaki chicken so by the time we I received my chicken everything on my plate was cold. The cook was extremely skimpy when dressing the food with sauces, spice or flavoring. I then looked up across to the table in front of us and pointed out to my husband a couple seating by themselves receiving hibachi grill services from a chef, then to our right another couple receiving the same. There were other tables being seated with people by host staff so not sure what is going on there. We spent $85 and it won't happen again. We spent our time heading back home finding another hibachi option to go try next time. As far as the atmosphere, it was OK, room for improvement though. I did notice all the frame kimono robes we're gone off the walls. It did look like they may have painted the walls as well, but grease dripping all over them. They weren't rude but not friendly, almost like a robot mentality. I'm sooooooo very disappointed because this was a favorite go to...
Read moreSo I'm writing this from a meal-delivery standpoint... I ordered from Crazy on Grubhub--first time ever eating there. Received my food on time. I ordered the King Kong roll (fried and spicy) and some fried rice. So I eat about half of the roll which, at the time, was quite good. The rice on the other hand was unlike any hibachi fried rice I've ever had. There was no fried egg, no evidence of soy sauce, and a really overpowering taste of garlic for some reason. It was like the rice had been sauted in just butter and garlic? So weird...anyway I know I focused a lot of attention on the rice just now but I guess that's really a menu item that makes or breaks a place for me. I thought that was the only reason I wouldn't be ordering from here anymore...but I was gravely mistaken... I'd like to preface the next set of details by saying that I am no stranger to spicy. I love everything from Mexican to Thai, to Indian cuisine. Never really had a problem with any of it. At 2:30am the following morning, I woke up with the most insane heartburn I've ever felt. I could hardly move my upper body. I managed to make it to my kitchen and take some antacid, but I seriously thought my chest was going to explode. I fell back asleep. About 2 hours later I woke up again because apparently my body which, at this time, was sweating profusely...needed to evacuate....everything...as soon as possible...using literally any means necessary. This was about a 2 hour ordeal...and really threw a monkey wrench in my upcoming day. While I do place a lot of emphasis on a good fried rice, this place straight up gave me food poisoning. Don't get me started on the strength of the garlic taste coming back up...so foul. So again, I'm sure the overall dine-in experience is mostly good... but my meal-delivery experience was likely one of the worst I've had unfortunately. If you do choose to order out from here, please at least make sure to avoid the aforementioned menu items. I'm betting money that it was the King Kong roll that climbed up my intestines like the Empire state building...super...
Read moreCrazy Hibachi, unfortunately, was/is the worst Hibachi grill I've been to so far. To start, this is THE ONLY Hibachi Grill I have ever been to that charges extra for Yum-Yum sauce....you don't get any for free at all... If you want ANY yum-yum sauce period you have to pay extra for it. That's blasphemy, even more so when it's $1 for a tiny sauce cup of it. That's highway robbery. Next, the Little Rock / NLR area is the only area I've ever been to where hibachi grills charge extra for fried rice. I've been to approximately over 50 different hibachi grills across all the places I I've been and Crazy Hibachi is one of two (The other one is located in the Little Rock area too) establishments that charges extra for fried rice. It was $3 extra per serving of fried rice, and you're still charged that even if it's as a substitute for the steamed rice that comes with the Hibachi meal.....INSANE. The only reason I continued with my order with the fried rice vs the steamed rice is because I had to make sure the boss, my fiancé, was happy. I was disappointed with the fried rice too though sadly... It was very plain compared to all other hibachi grill's I have been to. Now the icing on the cake, my fiancé's sister and brother in law ate with us and they got hibachi too, but they WERE NOT charged for their fried rice, that they ordered as a substitute to the basic steamed rice, as I had been. I was charged for each serving of fried rice. So not only do they price gouge customers, but they are inconsistent as well. Management here is clearly willing to sacrifice quality and customer experience in order to generate even higher profit margins that hibachi restaurants already have. I do not recommend this place to fill your...
