I grew up coming to Lakewood village. My first job was at the Mexico Chiquito here. I absolutely loved playing in the area around the fountain as a youth, which no longer exists, and there is not a playground down there anymore, just an empty space. I was told by a local business owner that the fountain is no longer full of water because it leaks water, but I do not know that to be a fact. I just know this used to be a beautiful place and now it is in disrepair. I do bring my child down here to ride his little razor scooter and we get ice cream at TCBY and maybe go out to eat. We do enjoy shopping at the Dollar Tree, love going to the Shoe Carnival, or even a new/used movie at The Game Xchange store here in Lakewood Village, but I really wish the city of North Little Rock would repair this area. I believe they could bring in a nice amount of revenue if they would revamp this shopping center. Especially considering there are brand new buildings going up when you have a beautiful landscaped area here in the ❤️ heart of North Little Rock. My grandma used to ask me to bring her here every Christmas to enjoy looking at all the holiday lights and that is something I miss dearly. If anybody agrees with me about revamping this Lakewood village shopping center please go out of your way to make a post on...
Read moreThere are a lot of good stores in the outdoor shopping center. Several good restaurants (TGIF) in the shopping center. I only gave it 4 stars because they used to have a nice kids play area in the center of the area. They had a nice Amphitheater, a nice play ground, and very large fountain area. There used to be several nice fountains in the clear water pond where you could walk around or toss some of your coins in. But that area has gone down hill from what it used to be. Even though there is a police substation right next to the pond, vandalism and loitering became a problem. Reports of broken glass in the pond, people pouring soap in the pond, un-supervised kids getting hurt; have led to the pond being drained and playground being removed. What used to be a nice little peaceful place people could walk around and enjoy has been ruined by the few who destroyed it. It’s very disappointing. Needless to say we don’t go there anymore to walk around and let the kids play. We only go to eat out or shop at a few...
Read moreI really appreciate going to this mall. When I first saw it, I was disappointed that it was all open air. But now-- OMG I am disabled, & being able to park in front of the store that I need to get something at, w/o walking past stores not meant for me, no interest to me, etc, just to get where I am going means EVERYTHING! I can put it in my trunk, then move to the next stop! This mall has a great mix of different eateries, clothing, Ulta, movies, Dollar Tree! A real eclectic mix of styles and budgets! I really like the wide open layout. My biggest problem? Closing the Books-a-Million store here, on the pretense that they were moving it to Conway!?! Come on, BAM!! Canceled my membership in their discount club & order stuff from Amazon now!...
