Waldoâs decided to open a chicken business in the middle of a chicken shortage. That was really bold. I went on opening night and I was pleasantly surprised at first . The couple behind me were inquiring about their wings when I heard them say that they didnât have any bone in chicken. It is on their menu. They donât have a sign saying not available . I ordered a lemonade and was given a cup.No lemonade at the fountain . I asked about it and was told, âoh give me your cup .â Okay⌠I ordered the Foul mouth which was very good. I also ordered fried pickles and they said, â oh are you sure because they are very big, and Iâm told we have to up charge to add them to your meal as a side. I said okay thatâs fine . That was the strangest exchange. The pickles were okay. Nothing special. I eat them all the time and Waldoâs didnât really do anything different and they were just okay. Not a huge order at all . And they were regular sized .At least there breading stayed on. But I suspect I know what was going on now that Iâve had time to think about it . The company I work for went on a business lunch and I asked them to bring me back some fried pickles and lemonade. I had the lemonade in opening night and it was actually really good. When my coworker returned she said, âthey didnât have any pickles. It wasnât on their menu.â I was confused because I had just had them and it was on their menu! So⌠I went back today because my daughter had a salad on opening night that looked so good and I wanted salad tonight. The pickles were off the menu just that quick and when asked if they had any pickles they were like, âno.â No explanation. The customer service is so horrible. This was a different place than opening night . So I tried to order the wings- they werenât available . I ordered the lemonade and was given a cup and went to the fountain - no lemonade. I asked about it and was told, â oh we have it . We just have to fill your cup after you get ice. â say what ??? The lady behind me said, â wow. Thatâs different . Maybe they shouldâve told you that when they took your order. â Right! So they bring out the lemonade in a huge tub and it literally sits on the counter while they all walk around it doing other things . I step to the side and tell the same girl that took my order that I need my lemonade. She says, â well they have to make itâ she says it as if I would just give up and get a regular fountain drink instead . Unbelievable. So I stand at the counter and watch them expedite orders and take orders and nobody is asking me a thing . Finally one girl says why is this lemonade just out here like this ? This is ghetto. Where is the pitcher? The same girl that took my order laughs and says, â yes it is ghetto.â So I say I need my lemonade.â The salad was a mess. They gave me five pieces of hard small chicken bites. No croutons. .it was awful and of course I had to ask for my dressing because you guessed it - they didnât put it in my bag. And the workers were just acting as if this service was normal. Awwwwwfulllll ....
Read moreI have been waiting to go to Waldo's chicken and beer for several months now. First month there was a line standing outside of the business so I decided to wait a month or so before I went. So on Saturday me and my son decided to take the trip from Little Rock to North Little Rock order to go. When we walked in me and my son took a look at the menu and decided that we would get several things to try them out.
The customer service was great the cashier was great she was friendly. We ordered a chicken Tender sandwich, the three tender meal, and the half chicken, oh and obviously a beer you can't go to Waldo's chicken and beer and not sample the beer right. They did not have a hostess sit you or assigned seating so you kind of had to look for an open table. We found a booth, and set down. Now after we ordered our food the cashier gave us a number the bartender yelled out our number as I stood up brought me my beer. It was actually fairly quick considering I thought I would get my beer at the same time the food came. The food came after probably 10 minutes. A guy brought the food that we ordered along with the sides. For the sides we ordered macaroni and cheese, the white beans, greens, and the French fries.
The chicken tenders, and the sandwich look great. When I received my order of fried chicken, it looked pretty dark and looking at it I thought they burnt it. But I attributed to look to possibly having some type of Cajun seasoning.
So let me start off by saying the chicken tenders were absolutely delicious they had a great flavor to them they were crispy, and they were tender. The chicken tender sandwich was also delicious the bond was soft and held up great.
Now it's time for the chicken. the fried chicken, and we all know "Miss Minnie says she don't ever burn Fried Chicken". Well we obviously didn't have Miss Minnie frying the chicken today. The coating on the chicken was burnt and bitter. Now I don't know if that made the inside list favorable however there really wasn't anything special about the marinade inside the chicken at that point. The chicken Was Juicy it was tender it was just overcooked. Since me and my son we're sharing the items to taste I asked him to take some of the chicken, that boy looked at me like I had three heads. He laughed and said no dad I'll let you handle that one. Hopefully whoever was cooking that day just had a bad chicken day.
The sides were absolutely delicious the macaroni and cheese was great, the greens were good, and those white beans boy let me tell you they were absolutely positively delicious and I would order those again, let's face facts, fat boy I would order the family size and probably eat all of it. And let's not forget about the french fries they were great in my son absolutely love them.
Customer service was good, most of the food was good. The only thing I'd say they need to find a Miss Minnie and put her...
Read moreUpdate 2 - Waldoâs decided to contact me this morning asking for more information and blocked me after I provided them with the information they requested. There was no confrontation of any sort but they continue to punish a veteran who was racially attacked in their restaurant and has been a daily customer for years with no negative interactions ever.
Update: I have recently learned they were not letting me come back until after they fired the manager who is in a relationship with the racist customer and let him come back behind her mangers back. They have been saying they were firing her since the end of 2024. The NLR location is infested with bad management.
I do not recommend any establishment owned by this company as they punish victims of their racist customerâs actions the same as the racist. One of their regulars who has a personal relationship with one of their managers, called me something racially inappropriate and proceeded to repeatedly tell me I was not going to do anything about it. I eventually stood up and tossed him to the ground to embarrass him, paid my tab and left. I am not proud of that and apologized to management several times. Management banned us both from that location and told me i would be allowed back after a particular manager transferred. He has since transferred. I noticed the person who made the racial comment was allowed back by the manager he is in a relationship with so I assumed my ban was over as well. One of their mangers, Joe, asked to speak with me outside and stated the other person was no longer allowed on the premises because they have had numerous issues with him in the past and to give him a week or so and I would be allowed back because they have never had any issues from me over the several years I have been a regular, faithful customer. I waited over a month and was told they were working on new management at that location and I was not allowed back yet. I have contacted them through their website a few times with...
