I was pretty disappointed in my order. Paid a bit of money & didn't receive what I ordered. I work in food & understand how it all needs to work, especially when it comes to satisfying those whom are keeping you in business (the customers, your clients & their guests). I wish I could give them a better review. I know how reviews devastate companies. However, it is best for others to know what to watch for when ordering delivery through them as well as Grub Hub, My review is not the only review of them not fulfilling their end of the order. So customers, be aware. They also cancelled a few items as if it was their prerogative to do so. I was not told what items, nor given an opportunity, nor chance to change my items or even change to a different restaurant that could provide me with my full order of what my husband & I specifically desired to have. Never received a courtesy phone call for the changes they themselves made & still got charged. Be careful when you order delivery from here. The Customer service, through delivery is not spot on & is in need of improvement. Not suggesting that they can't improve. However, suggesting that they need to work on customer satisfaction & checking twice when they send out a delivery. (It is not up to the restaurant to change a customers order with out first approval) Reaching out is key for the customers sake & to improve on your customer base. Unfortunately, this was not a good experience & I may not return as a customer. I do wish the best for every business & do hope that the business reads & strongly takes in considerations of the less then satisfying reviews & always seeks to improve. (Please note that this was a delivery from them through Grub Hub, though it was still through them) La Tormenta Restaurant may do better at in house service & should consider cancelling their delivery option or work towards improvement on orders made through delivery. Even if it is delivered by Grub Hub, it still represents your business as a whole &...
Read moreOk, so I've been coming to La Tormenta since 2020 because of its convenience and because it's one of the few options open on Sunday.
Overall, it's a pretty authentic place. But I'm going to just finally admit to myself that this place sucks. Here's why:
The staff is consistently unfriendly. You go up to the counter with a smile and a hello and they never fail to reciprocate with a "what do you want" face.
Orders take freaking forever. The average order time is 20 minutes but I've waited as long as 30.
They consistently get the order wrong. When I say consistently, I mean every single time. If you alter anything, it will be wrong. 💯 Percent guaranteed. Example: order 2 burritos with no lettuce, and also no onion on one of them = one with lettuce and one with onion. Do not try to alter anything, they can't handle it. Or they can but don't care because the overall mood in the place is indifferent, cheerless and grim.
As many others have mentioned, many of the items are bland. The tortillas are pretty good but they are super oily for some reason. Again, there's a feel of indifference in the food. When you wait that long for an order at a pay at the counter place, you would think at least the food would be lovingly made and full of flavor.
For these experiences and also because the salsa bar is usually out of pico which would help boost the low flavor food is typically empty, I finally admit I don't like La Tormenta. The magical thing about this kind of business is that the same indifference in the customer service and food will apply to reviews. Owners won't read it, won't try harder, and they'll still be swamped...
Read moreVery disappointed with them tonight. I ordered online on their website like I have many many times. One of those times they didn’t have what I wanted and they immediately called me to let me know and asked if I wanted to change it, which I did. When I went to pick it up this time they said they had didn’t have what I wanted. I asked why I didn’t get a call and the guy just said I don’t know. The guy I spoke with didn’t even apologize or ask if I wanted something else. I asked if I could still have my order made from a different meat and he said no. I asked for a refund and he walked away. I waited there and he kept helping everyone else. I asked for a refund again and he said he could just make them out of asada(which I don’t like) and when I said no he walked away again. I had to settle for food I really didn’t want but it was either that or not getting my money back. Very poor customer service on the guy...
