Ginza Japanese Restaurant in Logan, Utah, offers a unique and enjoyable dining experience that blends traditional Japanese cuisine with modern convenience. My recent visit was memorable for several reasons, ranging from the quality of the food to the distinctive way orders are placed. While there were a few small areas for improvement, overall, it was a great experience that I would recommend.
The highlight of our visit was undoubtedly the sushi. Ginzaâs sushi rolls were expertly crafted, with fresh fish and flavorful ingredients that delighted my taste buds. The menu offers a wide selection of rolls, nigiri, and sashimi, catering to both adventurous sushi lovers and those who prefer more familiar combinations. Each piece was beautifully presented, with just the right balance of textures and flavors. Whether youâre in the mood for a classic California Roll, a spicy specialty roll, or something unique, Ginzaâs sushi delivers on quality and taste.
In contrast, some of the appetizers fell a bit short of expectations. While the selection is impressive, including traditional favorites like edamame, tempura, and gyoza, a few items arrived at our table less than piping hot. The flavor was still good, but the temperature issue slightly detracted from the experience. That said, itâs worth mentioning that the staff was attentive and responsive, ensuring that every other aspect of the meal met high standards.
Service at Ginza was friendly, efficient, and tech-savvy. One of the most intriguing aspects of dining here is the use of an iPad ordering system, allowing you to place orders for everything, even napkins, with just a few taps. This innovative approach adds an element of fun and convenience to the meal, making it easy to customize your order, explore the menu at your own pace, and call for service whenever needed. The system worked seamlessly and made for a modern, interactive dining experience that stands out.
The ambiance at Ginza is warm and inviting, with a relaxed atmosphere that makes it suitable for both casual lunches and special occasions. The decor combines traditional Japanese elements with modern touches, creating a comfortable and visually appealing space. Whether youâre dining solo, with a partner, or in a group, itâs easy to settle in and enjoy the experience.
Despite a couple of minor hiccups with some of the appetizers, Ginza Japanese Restaurant impressed me with its flavorful sushi, innovative service, and friendly staff. For those in Logan seeking high-quality Japanese cuisine and a unique dining experience, itâs well worth a visit. Iâm already looking forward to returning to try more of their creative sushi rolls and perhaps give the appetizers another shot. Highly recommended for sushi lovers and anyone seeking a memorable meal with a...
Read moreBeen to a lot of hot pot places and hands down itâs Kuchu Shabu not this place.
Every time I go, the place is pretty much dead. The owner has completely lost the plot itâs embarrassing.
The ordering system is so complicated and just absolutely silly especially in a large group. And Iâm sure itâs not fun for the server or anyone else having to listen to the server monologue about the strict and complicated ordering process. I love hot pot and this is unfortunately the only place that has hot pot close by. So I have formulated a strategy that I will share.
So I sit down and itâs 5 items per 10 minutes.
So I order chopsticks, a plate, a drink, sesame sauce, and another sauce.
wait 10 minutes...
order some ginger, wasabi, a cup of rice, hot pot broth, extra hot pot broth.
wait 10 minutesâŚ
Order noodles and a variety of veggies.
Wait 10 minutesâŚ
Order some meat and some sushi.
Finally now have everything and can eat!!! But holy flying chicken! Picture not knowing this and slapping your forehead because you have to wait 10 minutes for sauce or a cup of water.
They should just have a standard plate of veggies and sauces that comes with every order and let the customer simply order the meat and broth type. Done! Why did the owner spend money on tablets that the whole table fights for? Just give everyone a simple menu! The complexity of the ordering process and variety of options is making this a nightmare for the customer, the server, and the kitchen.
Your food is fine. I mean, you could add some Wagyu to the menu and charge extra for it but no you need 5 varieties of lettuce instead it doesnât seem like the owner enjoys making money. Also your sushi is always falling apart. The more you rinse your rice, the more sticky it will become, so tell your intern rice maker to rinse it till the water is clear.
Side note, the music has always been just bizarre. One time it was like 70s arcade room type music and the next time it was deep relaxing spa music. I get what theyâre thinking on the surface with spa music, but it doesnât work itâs just weird. Just please, no music or just some simple quite traditional Japanese shamisen! I swear I wouldnât be surprised if the next time I came in they had some dramatic Hans Zimmer playing.
The restaurant has some cool interior design, but the owner just bought it that way when it was Momoâs and itâs gonna close just the same.
Oh, and good job replacing your high school cafeteria metal spoons with traditional...
Read moreWe came with a larger group, and this place is an absolute nightmare! Their website falsely advertises Ă la carte food ordering, but when we arrived, they refused to allow it. Instead, everyone was forced to order the all-you-can-eat option with no exceptions. To make matters worse, they donât provide paper or booklet menus. Instead, they gave the entire group one filthy tablet to pass around and order from before eating (mostly finger food). This is disgustingly unhygienic! Orders are made one person at a time, dragging the process out indefinitely.
One of our guests ordered the all-you-can-eat crab legs. After placing the order and waiting a ridiculous 20 minutes, they brought out a single, pathetically small crab leg on a tiny saucer. Thatâs it. After eating it, you are forced to wait another 20 minutes before youâre allowed to order another minuscule crab leg. One at a time, 20 minutes apart! This is outright exploitation and a waste of time.
To add insult to injury, guests are required to cook their own food. This place doesnât want to run a proper restaurant where they cook the food for you; instead, they charge you for the âprivilegeâ of doing their job yourself. Itâs an outrageous scam!
I ordered a seaweed salad, and what did I get? A tiny spoonful on a saucer plate. The food quality might be good, especially the sushi, but itâs overshadowed by the agonizingly long wait times between orders. Most of the time, they never even bring half of what you order. After about two orders, they simply refuse to take any more and seem to expect you to leave. They will blatantly ignore you until you give up and go. Not once in the three hours we were there did they offer a single drink refill. If you try to get a waiterâs attention, they walk away as fast as possible and pretend not to speak English. And to top it all off, they charge extra for using a fork!
After about three long hours, we left after eating very little food and receiving piss-poor service.
They will be out of business soon.
This place is an absolute rip-off. Donât get scammed. Avoid it...
