I will preface this by saying I was very excited to try this location out for the first time.
When I was seated I requested a water for my table while I headed over to try things out.
I will first say there was a smell when I first walked in that I ignored because of how long it took me to get there I didn’t feel like leaving. It’s a slight rotting fish smell. This was the main reason why I didn’t try the sushi even tho I am a sushi lover.
I stuck to cooked foods. First try was the hibachi it was very well cooked and flavorful although the gentlemen preparing it was not friendly what so ever.
He was very friendly with the child that came after me tho..you can guess what race I am with this observation.
I tried the hot and sour soup and paired my hibachi with broccoli, green beans, two gyoza, short rib, a chicken dish, a mushroom side, a beef dish and a little bit of their rice and a shrimp tempura.
The food tasted okay but the hottest thing was the hibachi , everything else was warm or room temp but not hot and fresh. I was also told there is no yum yum sauce but I don’t know how true that is.
When I sat down I wanted a drink and waited for my waitress for a long time to notice me but she didn’t. I wouldn’t have expected much service from a buffet unless I had a perfect example of my waitresses amazing service RIGHT NEXT TO ME. Yes the table right next to me. I observed her being charming and engaging and very attentive with them while walking past me and ignoring me. Finally I got up and spoke to a manager and asked for another waitress and instead of getting me another one he got me my drink so I was able to get a drink.
It was a Sapporo it was cold and good.
I believe the energy of a place is just as important as the quality of food. Sometimes when u feel like u are not wanted somewhere it makes for a bad experience which is unfortunate.
I opted out of dessert and another plate because of this. The same waitress that couldn’t be bothered was magically right there when it was time for me to check out.
Funny how they are always there to facilitate you leaving swiftly 😂
I left her a tip even tho I’m sure she treated me like that because I was a solo diner right 😉 couldn’t be anything else. I’m sure she assumed I wouldn’t tip only cause of that reason 😉
All in all would I visit again? No. Is it worth 40 dollars for...
Read moreThe place got an INCREDIBLE MAKE OVER it is looking brandnew refreshing and beautiful. The reception is beautiful and the place looks very inviting. Kudos on all that.
The quality of the fish is absolutely excellent Extraordinary! PERFECT! superior of competition!🥂🍾 . I did not try everything this time just a little sampler to go but next week I will pay a visit and make a complete professional review! With every single aspect of the business. . In the mid time I would like to leave a few points for the owners to think about. . My suggestion for improvements since I am a professional restaurant consultant are the following:
keep the trays over the food line constantly full Not only the chinese side! Pay attention to the Japanese side! In my frist visit my frst impression is not positive Too many empty or half empty trays on display speciallyon Sashimi and Sushi Nigiri!! .
The size of the Sashimi is ridiculously small! Looks supet Cheap!! Scream poor! Bad impression! Not good 😬😏
(If you cut bigger will be more satisfying to the customers eyes and will speak to their subconscious mind RICHNESS! PLENTY!! VALUE!)
...Than you go to the rolls section and the rolls are nice and even bigger than usual and there AGAIN customers will realize and think that you are being cheap on the fish and trying to load your customers fast with lots of rice! 😏🤨 Not good impression! Specifically because for basically the same price you go to Mitzumi around the corner and Sashimi is huge! All fish cuts are huge! Trays are ALWAYS full! There is way more variaty! Baked Salmon! Huge Hibachi! Handrolls on demand! Soups! Lots of Tempura options.... If you do not compete you will not last! You need to compete!
And you will lose every time because of cheap bad mistakes! Marketing is very important! People eat forst with their eyes and their minds! PLEASE correct little mistakes!! We love your place and we want to go back every week like before!
Will be part two in this initial review. ...
Read moreThe food is good but towards 3:30 the restaurant closes because lunch has ended and now they have to prepare the restaurant for dinner buffet. And for some reason the staff and what looks like the restaurant owner sit down for their lunch break even though they have customers still seated at tables. It would make more sense to stop customers from coming in an hour or maybe 30 minutes before closing time so you can tend to The people who are already seated. I saw the staff at 3:30 (which is when the restaurant closes for dinner preparation.) sitting down in the middle of the restaurant eating And yet there were still customers. I even saw one guy had to get up from his table to grab the attention of one of the waiters and complete his check at the front desk. It's extremely unprofessional and pretty rude and for some reason the staff acts like it's no problem. Just lock the doors and tent to the rest of the people and maybe stop people from coming in 45 minutes before closing. That way you guys can actually take a real break. Other than that the foods good. It's just the staff. They don't have the best service towards closing time. Once I was finished eating I couldn't wait for one of the waitresses to notice me while on their lunch break. I just got up and got the attention of one of the servers and paid at the front desk, pretty inconsiderate. One more thing I would like to add is I saw about maybe four or five tables still on my side while the staff was eating lunch on their break. Honestly, that's...
