Visiting Miami and wanted to get some boba to cool off. Our party of 5 arrived and no one greeted us except the lady behind the counter who handed us a menu. When we were ready to place our order, we walked up to the counter and the teenager sitting behind the counter didn't acknowledge us until the to-go machine spit out a ticket. He slowly got up and dealt with the ticket, ignoring us. There was a kiosk next to the counter so we tired to place our order on the kiosks.
The menu said we can choose the sweetness level but the kiosk did not give you an option so we tried to ask the teenager since the lady was busy in the back fixing an order. When we asked the teenager how to adjust the sweetness through the kiosk, he replied with an attitude as if we should have known the answer: "just put it in the note." I couldn't believe my ears. First of all, he's a teenager, so he should have a little respect for their elders, let some his customers who are going to pay him. Second of all, that attitude was no way to respond to a customer. So I responded in kind that if I had known that, I wouldn't gave asked him. He just stood there as if he didn't have enough processing power to respond bc he's never been put in his place before.
Listen, if you're going to put your kids to work or even hire someone inexperienced to work, it is the owner/manager's job to train their kids/ employees.

The staff was usually the same caring and very determined and friendly guys, and the boba was so good especially with all the flavours. It was about five dollars for a small cup of it even though it was actually quite large and really worth driving twentt minutes for it. But now there are new workers who can’t pick up the phone, will take EIGHT WHOLE MINUTES TO GIVE YOUR CHANGE BACK, mess your order up THREE TIMES IN A ROW, and generally have no manners. They took off some flavours from the menu and they even cut the boba small cups in half meaning you would pay the same price for half of what you’re getting. Read moreI been here 3 times for Taiwan Ice. First two times they said machine was down so I bought my group the rolled icecream. Came now for a 3rd time with family and I could not order Taiwan Ice because machine was down.
I asked them again and they clarified saying "well machine works but we clean it 30 minutes before we close because they need to run water through it." Mind you we understood because we arrived 20 minutes before closing.
Maybe I am wrong but if your signature item is a product and that product is not available 30 minutes before closing then advertise it.
Next, maybe I am wrong after 25 years in hospitality but that is bad management and bad staff. This is an example of workers that want to leave early and start the cleaning and closing process early to get out. Everything on that menu should be available up to 10 minutes before closing at minimum.
