A good addition to this strip mall which housed 3 chain restaurants that wouldn't be the first choice for someone looking for non fast food but good food in a timely manner. You order at the counter, and they bring your food to whatever table you seat yourself at. You can also scan the QR code at your table which is specific to the table to order and pay. The inside is bright and minimalistic; they will bring you water cups, paper plates, plastic utensils, napkins and wooden chopsticks when you're seated and awaiting your order. You're also able to get up and get more of those items as you need, for a practical combination of counter and table service. They have a super cute dumpling mascot that decorates their wall (glowed up) and their plastic tea cups.
Did I mention they have boba here? They have all the standard drinks---milk teas like Thai iced tea, herbal and fruit iced teas, Vietnamese coffee, fruit juices, smoothies---and all the toppling options. I got a Winter Melon green tea with herbal jelly and it was refreshing and fun to drink/eat. You can ask for your drink be made with reduced sugar. 50% less sugar was a great level for my drink.
We shared the Pork Sanji (pan fried buns), Shrimp Rice Roll, Crab Meat & Pork Soup Dumplings and the Spicy Noodle Soup. The Shrimp Rice Roll were 3 rolls of plump wide rice noodles rolled with 3 pieces of sizable shrimp in an sweet savory soy sauce, perfect for sharing but more perfect to just munch a third at a time. We appreciated the Crab Meat & Pork Soup Dumplings for not tearing apart during transport to our table or with our chopsticks. The flavors of crab and fatty pork made for a lovely broth to slurp after the first bite into the dumpling. Soup dumplings, I have missed you. The Spicy Noodle Soup lived up to its name but still had a flavorful (but not overly salty) unctuous broth that I wanted to keep scooping and sipping. The noodles were thin egg ones that were plentiful and cooked just enough to retain the shape throughout the eating process. I will admit that I coughed a few times drinking the broth because it went down the wrong pipe, but the spice and flavor didn't stop me from eating! I'm glad we shared the dish and that the staff were kind enough to split and serve it in two separate bowls for us, as if we got two separate smaller orders of the noodles. The thick cut beef in the noodles was fatty, which I usually shy away from, but it made the noodle bowl right, especially with the chili spice. The only dish we didn't finish was the Pork Sanji, which comes with 5 buns. We agreed that it tasted like it was not fully defrosted, since the inside of it was not very hot despite it clearly being well pan seared.
The service and the other dishes made it a worthwhile stop in this location. I want to return and try other...
Read moreI've been wanting to visit Serious Sanji (aka Serious Dumplings) for some time now and finally had the chance to visit. I'm rather disappointed though, I had the lotus leaf wrapped sticky rice, which I think it's the same frozen Doll Dim Sum that I frequently purchase, and the Shrimp Rice Roll is exactly the same like the frozen Doll Dim Sum. I buy these 2 items from the Asian groceries store frequently, so I'd know.
Was expecting everything to be made from scratch by the restaurant, but I guess not ... It's kind of crazy to go to a 'restaurant' to find the same frozen food that I buy regularly from the grocery store, and much cheaper. I could stay home and microwave dinner for myself!
The Beef Sanji, I think that's authentic and store made, the dough is a little too thick for my liking, but I'd give it a 3.5 stars out of 5.
Also had the beef fried noodle. It was totally different form the picture! From the menu, the fried noodle looks like udon noodles, which I assumed the fried version would somewhat taste like the Shanghai fried noodles, but in actuality, the noodles I got are pieces of very thin egg noodles, all broken in very small pieces, rather tasteless. The beef though, is not the kind of beef that you'd expect to find in fried noodles, they're slices of 'dried beef' that's rather chewy and tasteless. $0.5 pack of Ramen tastes better than this.
That $50++ was not well spent, really...

I thought they did table service but I guess they dont sat at the table and saw that I could scan from order they had people ordering at the counter but yet there was no welcome or anything indicating that they don't service you at the table I did the order through the scan my order came out but my boba didn't come out so once I was done with my food the person came to me and said is everything okay I said well I'm just waiting for the boba tea And she told me that they were cooking it well when you brought me the food you should have told me that the first time so a little work on customer service i left a 10 dollar tip no thank you Made me feel like I wanted to take it back
I had this soup style dumpling I just feel like it's very like Fast food type of food it was just okay They had chili oil but had no flakes in it just pure oil For the amount that I paid for those dumplings they were the smallest dumplings I've ever eaten I feel like I've eaten those types of small dumplings for $3 and a frozen section at the dollar store. The brown sugar milk tea with boba is good the shrimp wonton the broth was good If I was to ever come back here it might just be for boba tea But I doubt I'll be back just continue to go to dumpling kings for my dumplings and pokeandgo...
