Cool little beach bar and have some decent bands. Now the problem, I sat at the bar for a good 5 minutes and watched others get waited on that came up after me and never once did anyone behind the bar even look our way. Long story short I finally went to a different area of the same bar and Mike the bartender/manager/part owner was quite rude but did get me 2 waters that we needed since 2 of us were driving. Would have let it slide but my niece went back for refills and he told her he didn’t do water but the girl bartender could if she wanted to. Then told me the same thing except there was a water fountain (which we didn’t know and would have used it) and that he didn’t make money on water and couldn’t pay the bands on water even though I told him we had a large tab. I know they deal with a lot of drunks and I get it but neither my niece or myself were drunk or belligerent or rude yet she was threatened with security to have her escorted out only because she was voicing that she was disappointed in the service or lack of. We tabbed out and no tip and told them why.. Also know for a fact that if you go to the bar for a drink the servers will not come to your table later to wait on you. Not sure we will be back and sure hope that the managers, owners and wait staff will learn some good ole Southern courtesy. If you want to be rude then take it somewhere else...
Read moreLocal beach bar atmosphere that surprised us with how good the food is. From the outside it seems like a bar that serves food but based on the quality of food I can say it's a restaurant that has a bar. It was full on a Monday night with a hurricane only a couple hours from landing. Our party was surprised when the side salad came. I expected the typical iceberg mix from a bag (no harm if it was) but the salad was dressed with generous portions of chopped onions, bell peppers and tomatoes, shredded cheese, crispy bacon and croutons- everyone in my party ate it all up. The buffalo and teriyaki chicken wings were cooked just right- crispy on the outside, moist on the inside and properly sauced- tasty. Then our entrees came..."I've never had popcorn shrimp that wasn't over cooked- this is perfect!" And, "These may be the best fried oysters I've ever had." And so on from everyone. The fish was extremely fresh, good cuts, and not over cooked in old oil (you know what I'm talking about). They also fry fish separately from other fried foods. So, the next time you are in North Myrtle Beach looking for a relaxed, friendly place to eat some seafood go check out Moto's. And if Brittany is your waitress tell her you heard she was great at her job. And that's coming from a family with a restaurant legacy going back three generations on both sides. Well...
Read moreWaitress was quick. Pretzel was good. I’m a mussels lover. But…. These were horrible. The mussels. This is definitely not served in a white wine butter sauce. I did ask the server to add no pepper of any kind. The first time it came out it was very salty and they loaded it with old bay seasoning. That was not in the description of the dish. The waitress was wonderful. She got me a new order. The new order came and it definitely did not come out in a white wine butter sauce. It came out in overly salted water. I ate one and couldn't eat the rest. They did take it off the bill, but if they advertise it in a white wine butter sauce, make it that way. You don't even need to salt it. Geeeze…. Throw some fresh parsley and garlic if you want to go...
