We went to this restaurant on a non busy night. We were warned that the kitchen was behind. It took almost an hour to serve our food. First my wife’s order of crab cakes was left off by our server on the order. Our soup was served with our dinner instead of an appetizer and my dinner had to be sent back for having the three servings of seafood served to me at room temperature. I sent it back and requested a new dinner to be made and was served the same exact 3 1/2 scallops the same three shrimp and my original crab cake flipped over. They put on hot French fries but the same room temperature seafood. This is totally against all food safety protocols that food needs to be sent out while it is hot. It should be noted that all three of the other meals came out hot. I brought up to our server that this was a serious food safety violation and I will be reporting it. Use this review as a warning and reminder that you may get food here that is not hot and fresh and could make you sick. I did request a follow up from the South Carolina department of Food Safety as I observed a man working behind the grill with long dreadlocks and no hair cover and observed another worker sweeping the floor while food was sitting out waiting to be served. I requested to my server to bring this to the managers attention but was told they weren’t available they were in the kitchen trying to straighten things out. The kitchen staff needs to be retrained in food safety and if need be retake their food safety certification. Serving room temperature seafood that has been cooked and is sitting around, can make someone sick. Also our server had to go home for an emergency and the fill in server was overwhelmed and couldn’t keep up. Also this restaurant needs to make it public that it charges a surcharge for credit cards. All in all a very disappointing experience and an unsafe...
Read moreMy siblings (along with our spouses) broke away from our families for what we thought would be an enjoyable lunch. The 8 of us were seated and greeted by our waitress who immediately told us that her day had been crazy busy for her. We placed our drink, appetizer, and lunch orders all at once in the hopes of making our waitress's life easier. Forty five minutes passed, and the only thing our table had received were waters. When we asked our waitress what the status of our drinks and appetizers were, she responded with the ice maker downstairs was broken and that she had to make the drinks upstairs. Shortly after, a different waitress brought our table 3 drinks, with 2 out of the 3 drinks being wrong. Going on an hour, the 8 of us finally received our drinks with the waitress bringing out extra shots that we were told were on the house for our long wait. Our appetizers were delivered shortly after, with the oysters completely submerged under the melted ice. When we sent the oysters back, the waitress simply placed the oysters back on new ice. Sensing our ever growing frustration, management got involved and we were told we would be getting a "local" discount on all of our meals. After our meals, we were given our checks and not only was there not a discount, but we were also being charged for the shots that we did not order and were apparently on the house. When we approached management with this issue, we were told that they were unable to provide free alcohol. At this point, we were all beyond fed up and were in agreement that we would not be paying full price for this experience. When management applied their "local" discount of 5% (LOL) we handed over our credit cards only to notice that when we went to sign, they added an 18% tip for the waitress. THE WORST EXPERIENCE. THE WORST STAFF. THE WORST CUSTOMER...
Read moredon’t even know where to begin. I’ve had bad meals before, but this was a full-on horror story. I ordered the calamari and the grilled fish. Seemed like a safe bet. I was so wrong. The calamari arrived cold and rubbery—like chewing on a bicycle tire that had been soaking in dishwater. It had this strange grayish tint like it had been thawed and refrozen multiple times since the Clinton administration. Then came the fish. I wish I could tell you what kind it was, but I honestly couldn’t identify it. It tasted like it died of old age and disappointment. It was dry on the outside and somehow still slimy on the inside—an impressive but deeply disturbing contradiction. I took two bites and felt my stomach give a warning signal like it was about to file a restraining order. And then... there was Lauren. Our server Lauren was inattentive, rude, and genuinely seemed annoyed that we existed. We waited 20 minutes before she even acknowledged us, and when she finally came to the table, she didn’t even say hello. Just stared at us like we interrupted her mid-TikTok scroll. When I politely asked if the calamari was fresh, she laughed and muttered “Sure, if you believe in miracles.” I honestly thought she was kidding. She wasn’t.She never brought us napkins, forgot our drinks twice, and when I asked for lemon, she sighed and said, “You already have sauce.” I watched her roll her eyes no fewer than three times during our 45-minute dining nightmare. My friend asked for the manager, and Lauren just said, “He’s busy,” and walked away.We left hungry, nauseated, and slightly traumatized. Honestly, I wouldn’t be surprised if I start having flashbacks every time I pass a seafood counter. Eat here if you hate yourself. Disappointed and she was disrespectful would like to hear back...
