I’d first like to start off by saying this review has nothing to do with the waitress or the service that she provided during my experience. Today I decided to ask some friends on a double date and thought this place would be a great spot on the water to go experience. After hearing a few mixed things about the place I wanted to try it for myself. And boy I should have listened. Walking into the restaurant the first thing I heard was “this wasn’t worth all that money” and “damn that took forever”. Instead of listening I still decided to proceed because the reviews online said otherwise. From the moment we got in we were greeted and sat down almost instantly which was great! Our waitress was very sweet and polite. We sat at table 15 which is located in outside deck. After ordering our appetizer and meal this is when everything started to shift. We ordered a Calamari as an appetizer before our meal. Typically those come before the food, this was not the case . Not only did the calamari get to our table as our food was coming out. The plate was hot but the food was cold and mushy. I instantly noticed and took it to a server and within literally 2 minutes I had another brought to me. With my meal.. It was the same plate…. But apparently it was “remade”. I only know this wasn’t remade because I spilt sauce on the plate and it was still there on the new plate. How could that happen? Not trying to make a scene with my date and friends I decided to let it go. Then comes out my $30 seafood platter. 3 shrimp, 3 scallops and a fish the size that would feed a toddler. Overall come here to get a beer. Don’t get food. I spent over $100 dollars on dinner but left hungry. Even ordered wings to go.

We came to Snooky’s simply because it was recommended online as one of the best spots in North Myrtle/Cherry Grove. We dined downstairs, inside, and had a server that wasn’t the worst but wasn’t the best either. Very middle of the road. The food, however, was so good we knew we had to come back and give it another try. Enter Lauren. This time we ate outside, upstairs at the bar, and Lauren was our bartender. Of course, it needs no saying, but the food was incredible (again). What really made the night, though, was Lauren herself. She was quick on her feet, even while busy, and had everyone at the bar taken care of as well as a 12 top party at the bar tables. Her drinks were perfect, as was her energy. The view at Snooky’s, and the food, is reason enough to check them out; but Lauren is definitely a top contender as well. (for the sake of pictures, I personally started with the Conch Ceviche which was fresh, flavorful with the perfect kick, and nice and light. I followed that with the Sesame Encrusted Ahi Tuna (cooked at chef’s recommendation) for my entree and the tuna was perfectly cooked, the sauce was to die for, and the rice and veggies on the side paired well with the dish. Of course, for dessert, I went with the mile high chocolate cake and I regret NOTHING; well, nothing other than not taking pictures of the drinks Lauren made. I am a gin lover and picky about my dirty martinis, but she made it perfectly; and didn’t even bat an eye when I asked for three shakes of hot sauce in the drink to give it a kick. The people I was with ordered their THE O SEA D and the SOME BEACH and even though I didn’t try them myself, they were well liked and highly recommended!)

My wife and I have been to Snookies in Little River many times and always enjoyed ourselves and the food, so we thought we would try Snookies Oceanfront in North Myrtle Beach. First the music is so loud having to compete with Murphys next door, the bass actually hurts you ears. We then ordered 2 beers, that were on the tap list, the waiter came and told my wife they had ran out of hers, followed by 2 minutes later and I was told the same about mine. I ordered a second different one and that was out also, so I decided to stick with water. We ordered Conch fritters and a bowl of chowder and my wife asked for a she crab soup. The 4 tiny conch fritters came out overcooked and chewy. The table near us filled up with a large family, their waiter gave them the full rundown of specials and made suggestions to them, in contrast to ours who told us nothing except which beers we wouldn't be drinking. My clam chowder then came out cold, salty and pasty, loaded with balls of flour, not to mention the bowl was the size of a cup in most places. My wife's she crab was lukewarm and salty, but she ate it. I sent mine back when the waiter finally returned, but offered no replacement or suggestion, didn't even ask if I wanted a manager. He brought the bill and we paid it, 10% tip and left. No one ever spoke to us or offered an apology for such awful food and terrible service...bottom line, we will never return to that location and continue to go to the Little River Snookies.

We went to this restaurant on a non busy night. We were warned that the kitchen was behind. It took almost an hour to serve our food. First my wife’s order of crab cakes was left off by our server on the order. Our soup was served with our dinner instead of an appetizer and my dinner had to be sent back for having the three servings of seafood served to me at room temperature. I sent it back and requested a new dinner to be made and was served the same exact 3 1/2 scallops the same three shrimp and my original crab cake flipped over. They put on hot French fries but the same room temperature seafood. This is totally against all food safety protocols that food needs to be sent out while it is hot. It should be noted that all three of the other meals came out hot. I brought up to our server that this was a serious food safety violation and I will be reporting it. Use this review as a warning and reminder that you may get food here that is not hot and fresh and could make you sick. I did request a follow up from the South Carolina department of Food Safety as I observed a man working behind the grill with long dreadlocks and no hair cover and observed another worker sweeping the floor while food was sitting out waiting to be served. I requested to my server to bring this to the managers attention but was told they weren’t available they were in the kitchen trying to straighten things out. The kitchen staff needs to be retrained in food safety and if need be retake their food safety certification. Serving room temperature seafood that has been cooked and is sitting around, can make someone sick. Also our server had to go home for an emergency and the fill in server was overwhelmed and couldn’t keep up. Also this restaurant needs to make it public that it charges a surcharge for credit cards. All in all a very disappointing experience and an unsafe...

My siblings (along with our spouses) broke away from our families for what we thought would be an enjoyable lunch. The 8 of us were seated and greeted by our waitress who immediately told us that her day had been crazy busy for her. We placed our drink, appetizer, and lunch orders all at once in the hopes of making our waitress's life easier. Forty five minutes passed, and the only thing our table had received were waters. When we asked our waitress what the status of our drinks and appetizers were, she responded with the ice maker downstairs was broken and that she had to make the drinks upstairs. Shortly after, a different waitress brought our table 3 drinks, with 2 out of the 3 drinks being wrong. Going on an hour, the 8 of us finally received our drinks with the waitress bringing out extra shots that we were told were on the house for our long wait. Our appetizers were delivered shortly after, with the oysters completely submerged under the melted ice. When we sent the oysters back, the waitress simply placed the oysters back on new ice. Sensing our ever growing frustration, management got involved and we were told we would be getting a "local" discount on all of our meals. After our meals, we were given our checks and not only was there not a discount, but we were also being charged for the shots that we did not order and were apparently on the house. When we approached management with this issue, we were told that they were unable to provide free alcohol. At this point, we were all beyond fed up and were in agreement that we would not be paying full price for this experience. When management applied their "local" discount of 5% (LOL) we handed over our credit cards only to notice that when we went to sign, they added an 18% tip for the waitress. THE WORST EXPERIENCE. THE WORST STAFF. THE WORST CUSTOMER...

don’t even know where to begin. I’ve had bad meals before, but this was a full-on horror story. I ordered the calamari and the grilled fish. Seemed like a safe bet. I was so wrong. The calamari arrived cold and rubbery—like chewing on a bicycle tire that had been soaking in dishwater. It had this strange grayish tint like it had been thawed and refrozen multiple times since the Clinton administration. Then came the fish. I wish I could tell you what kind it was, but I honestly couldn’t identify it. It tasted like it died of old age and disappointment. It was dry on the outside and somehow still slimy on the inside—an impressive but deeply disturbing contradiction. I took two bites and felt my stomach give a warning signal like it was about to file a restraining order. And then... there was Lauren. Our server Lauren was inattentive, rude, and genuinely seemed annoyed that we existed. We waited 20 minutes before she even acknowledged us, and when she finally came to the table, she didn’t even say hello. Just stared at us like we interrupted her mid-TikTok scroll. When I politely asked if the calamari was fresh, she laughed and muttered “Sure, if you believe in miracles.” I honestly thought she was kidding. She wasn’t.She never brought us napkins, forgot our drinks twice, and when I asked for lemon, she sighed and said, “You already have sauce.” I watched her roll her eyes no fewer than three times during our 45-minute dining nightmare. My friend asked for the manager, and Lauren just said, “He’s busy,” and walked away.We left hungry, nauseated, and slightly traumatized. Honestly, I wouldn’t be surprised if I start having flashbacks every time I pass a seafood counter. Eat here if you hate yourself. Disappointed and she was disrespectful would like to hear back...
