I have to admit, my wife and I almost made a mistake and judged this book by its cover.
We hadn’t been back to Myrtle beach in 9 years, since 2016. Our plan was to go to our old favorite, Nakato, for a clean(er) dinner meal, but found that it closed or went out of business. A review for Nakato mentioned T’Z Japanese at the mall and I saw it had great ratings so we decided to take a chance and drive there.
Well… we got there and the mall barely had any cars or people there, at least near the food court entrance. When we walked up to T’Z, there wasn’t a line or anything being cooked so it was really hard to judge what was going on. We talked to the (assumed) owner and he assured us the food was cooked to order. My wife and I huddled up and decided to give them a shot; we were hungry after all and really just wanted to eat without having to figure out another new game plan. They did not disappoint!!! Great portion sizes, well seasoned food, and great service. I highly recommend them and if you go in person, don’t be fooled if the mall is empty and there is no line. They get the majority of their business via delivery services like DoorDash which seems to be the norm at this point and with where our society has...
Read moreI had high hopes reading these 5 star reviews but what a let down. We got two orders of filet and chicken and one order of filet with scallops. The “filet” was ridiculously chewy so I have a hard time believing it was actually filet. Noodles were inedible, rice was hard, and everything just had an overall bad taste/flavor. We received 3 different dipping sauces. The teriyaki sauce was clumpy almost solid, ginger sauce was inedible. There’s not enough yum yum sauce in the world to cover the strange taste. Coming in at almost $130 for three combos, it was like flushing money down the toilet. Hopefully my review will help someone in the future because I’m not sure where all these 5...
Read moreHeads up to anyone that has food allergies and tries to place an order. They are unwilling to make substitutions unless you give a reasoning—mine is food allergies related to an autoimmune disease. This was explained to them, and I understand what I can and cannot have on their menu. The person on the phone proceeds to argue with me and refuse to make changes to meet my requests. That’s fine, there many other options in the area that are respectful, willing and understanding of how to accommodate their guests. I will not pay someone to disrespect me for something I cannot control, and I will not fight you just to be able to eat at...
