This place has two names apparently. Saffron Patch and this Inchin's Bamboo Garden. Looking at Inchin's Bamboo Garden website it says this location is closed until October. We went on Sept. 21 so maybe they just opened?
I was very found of a restaurant Saffron Patch in Akron Ohio and hoped this would be similar. It wasn't really.
We came here with my wife and 2 year old. Pretty much as soon as we arrived the waiter came by wife two small slices of what appeared to be white birthday cake and put in front of our 2 year old.
We took the gesture to mean it was going to be a while to get our food along with they were doing their best to keep the 2 year old happy for our sake and the sake of other patrons of the restaurant.
There was a drug rep with a group in the back room that took the one waiter's time and two other tables were occupied when we arrived. My wife took a long time to decide what she wanted (the menu has quite a lot of options just to read through) and more people came on after us. We didn't place our order for about 10-15 minutes after arrival and got our food about 35 minutes after arrival (20-25 minute wait for food).
We got chicken tikka masala, paneer and vegetables. Wife doesn't like spice and we were sharing everything so ordered low spice level. We asked if we could do no rice and additional vegetables instead and were told no.
Paneer and vegetables were good. The chicken tikka masala was ok. There was not much chicken in it. Our two year old ate the rice.
I took the masala sauce home and added much more chicken to it than what was in it originally and warmed it. Much better as a left over meal with the chicken in it that should have been there in the first place. My guess is they expect people to use the rice as a filler for the sauce and we didn't.
There is a buffet on the weekends advertised for $18 but was not available during our...
Read moreActually wanted to give 0.5 stars, but I have to select 1 for writing this review. Worst Indian food ever had on this planet. Lets start with the dishes they served as part of buffet today.
Started with Soup: Thought it will activate my taste buds as it goes. Worst than ever I had soups in my life.
Starters: 1. Fried idli and they called as "Chilli Idli", to my knowledge Idli's which are fronzed(atleast a month) and fried to prepare this.
Cashew potato: You need to be lucky enough to get some cashew's on to your plate. Over oily,
3.Chicken starters: I felt like, they have got the worst chefs to prepare such dishes. after reading those dishes name. I doubt myself I belong to some african forest/ Ice age. Never heard those names in my life. Nothing is hot.
Colored rice mixed with fetid chicken and they called as "Hyderabadi Biryani". I pity myself calling Hyderabadi after eating the biryani they served. I guess the chef never heard or tastes how a Hyderabadi Biryani smells and tastes. Couldnt find any spices nor the Biryani masala in the biryani they served even with my 16mp camera.
5.Deserts: Tastes like rotten eggs.
None of the food is covered with sneeze guards, I wonder how a food inspector/food officer allow such people running restaurants so bad. None of the tables had dinner napkins(cloth), have to ask repeatedly for the paper napkins.
There was a man with shaved head(may be the manager) is so rude, demanding tip for their worst service. Dont refer your friends/family.
Actual Bill : $90. Tax: $6.75 Paid: $112.95(On demand from that shaved head person).
Stay starve rather than having food in this...
Read moreI normally do not write reviews but after going there a second time, and having the same terrible experience, I decided to do so.
This restaurant leaves me wishing that there was a way to give it negative star rating, but I suppose I will have to settle for a 1/5.
The first time I went there (Nov 2016) I swore not to go back again. But since I had some family visiting me in February 2017, I decided to try it again- what a mistake!
The food is terrible, the buffet area is over crowded during lunch hours, and service is non existent.
Their chef needs to be let go. The first time I lived on my own and started to cook, my preparations were better than this.
Some dishes lacked salt, others had an imbalance of Indian spices, that made the food taste weird or pungent. But most of all, the buffet area had empty dishes with the crowd jostling to get to the remnant crumbs.
Anyone who stood in this restaurant's "dosa" line, this last Sunday will vouch that you had to wait an eternity to get half steamed "rice pancakes" folded over on a tasteless mishmash of a potato filling called "masala"
As for the service, the less said the better. Their staff were walking around without the faintest clue of how to serve customers.
I cannot believe that people have actually been giving this place a better review- maybe the restaurant had a different chef/ management then.
I decided to go there after promising not to do so- in the end I think it served me right. I am sure I...
