Applebee's Grill + Bar — Restaurant in North Port

Such a disappointing evening. There were many empty tables but we still had to wait 15 minutes to be seated. The waitress was unfriendly, and incompetent. She took the dinner order of a party across the aisle who arrived after we did. She turned around and asked us if everything was ok and I said we’d like to give you our dinner order. We were interested in the advertised Big Easy menu items but were told they didn’t have any of the ingredients. She did not know the regular menu…I ordered a simple chicken sandwich and she took the menu from my hands and said “I don’t know what that is”. She never asked if I wanted the chicken fried or grilled and since the photo depicted the chicken fried that was what I wanted. My husband ordered the Oriental Chicken Salad and specified grilled chicken. When the food finally arrived 20 minutes later, my chicken was grilled and my hisband’s chicken was fried. At this point we were completely disgusted and we told her the food was wrong she started to argue with us telling us that “5 people called off tonight”. Not our problem, so we placed $11 on the table for the one cocktail we purchased and left. From the moment we entered to the moment we left it was the worst experience at an Applebees. There’s an HOUR of our lives we’ll never...

Went in around 11pm, it had a good crowd.. The man at the front said there's a 40 minute wait. I responded with but yall are closing in 40 minutes...... he said yes. ooookay, then just say its not happening tonight instead of trying to beat around the bush I asked if we could order to go, he said the same thing... ot would probably be a 40 minute wait for that as well... seemed like this man did not want our business because they only had 3 servers and 2 cooks in house... but it was late, my girls birthday is (right now) - our plans dropped last minute and I wanted to take her to grab a bite to eat... we decided to just order to go anyway. I was not the most optimistic at this point but.... I will say we were delightfully surprised! Anna W. was our server in Togo and she had obviously been running her tail off all night long. However, instead of trying to push us out the building she was very patient, very sweet, and got to our orders right away. I thought it would be a while but one of the other servers mentioned that the manager hopped in the kitchen to help and I just want to say.... yall did that for real. Within 15-20 ?minutes, she came out to the car- the food was great, everything was there, cooked as ordered and we had a pleasant experience...

Was handed a menu that was wet through entire menu. Had to go to bar and grab napkins from behind bar in order to dry menu. Food was delivered and was never given any napkins,had to once again go to bar again for napkins. Server, Jessica did not check to see if I needed a drink refill, was by far worst service I have ever received in my entire life. To make matter worse all employess were hanging out at table next to where I sat,I mentioned menu was wet and did they say anything,no they did not,they did not care.Spoke to manager,manager did not care. She asked what issue was and I told her about my experience and did she offer to do anything to compensate for experience,no she did not. Stay away,if you want good customer service,go somewhere else.

I was contacted by management and offered to return and get a meal comped to make things right. I was impressed how much better service was this go around. Waitress was attentive,service was so much better. Manager was informed I was there and came out and spoke with me and apologized. This is how service is supposed to be and I do not know reason service last time was so poor,but I am pleased and happy to post that I received excellent service this time from Leah and I had no issues...
