I was just in guadalajara a couple weeks ago eating tortas ahogadas and birria from street vendors and I can say with complete confidence that this spot is the real deal. The salsa that they drown the torta in was better than the salsa I had in guadalajara, and the pork was just as melt-in-your-mouth tender. The only difference here was the bread- here it is soft and spongy, which isn't a bad thing, just different from the hard crusty bread I had in mexico. The jericallas and horchata were also top tier. If you want authentic guadalajara cuisine, casa de luz is the place to go. For a really authentic experience, make sure to get your torta "en bolsa"!

Amazing! I drive past this place on my way to work, and I have been meaning to stop for so long and I'm so glad I finally did! I got the Torta Dinner with Al Pastor and it did not disappoint. Well seasoned, all of the toppings were fresh, and I loved the salsas that came with it. Rice and beans were awesome too! Super fast and friendly service. I went in and placed my order, and was leaving with my food in less than 10 minutes!

Food was hot and fresh!!! Been wanting to try this spot for a while and it did not disappoint!!! Loved the chips and salsa! Everything tasted AUTHENTIC! I love tacos de papa and these were on point! Had a gordita de chicharron10/10. Great flavor! Can't wait to come back and try something off of the seafood menu!! Also wanted to shout out to our waitress Sofia!! Such a sweetheart and was on top of it as soon as we walked in.

I showed up at this restaurant with a friend of mine a week ago and apparently the food didn't agree with him so he had a bathroom emergency. I didn't have the same issues. I'm very humiliated and embarrassed because I decided to try them again with my 9 year old nephew and the staff was very rude to me in front of him. I was told my friend made a mess (which had nothing to do with me) and I wasn't allowed there anymore. I was so embarrassed with the whole experience. Its a restaurant that serves food and sometimes it doesn't agree with you but to call a customer out and tell them they aren't allowed there anymore is a testament of what kind of staff they have. I hope to never have to experience that in a...

Tried here for the first time last night and was very happy with the experience. The salsa they provided with the chips, as well as all three sauces, were all exceptionally good. Better than most other restaurants in the area provide to be honest. We got our food very quickly after ordering and everything was delicious. I tried both their steak and al pastor tacos and was very happy with both. I also tried a steak quesadilla de maza and it was so surprisingly tasty. It isn't like a traditional quesadilla, but more of a fried pastry type of thing with meat and cheese on the inside. It was great. Not too heavy for something fried and still nice and flakey. I will definitely be back and recommend my friends to...
