Desserts By Design — Restaurant in Northampton Township

We got married on 12/30/22 and had Desserts by Design do our wedding cake. I wanted a cupcake tower with a small 6" cake on top. I wanted to save the cake on top for our one year anniversary. We discussed having a second 6" cake that would be a duplicate of our top tier cake so that we would have something to cut at our reception. At our cake tasting we selected chocolate and vanilla cupcakes and a marble poundcake for the 6" cakes. It was hard to make a selection as everything was great. Haven’t been to this bakery in about 6-8 months, Just stopped in for a few treats for my kids And their very popular “Chinese Cookie” that you have to show up early to get your hands on one as they sell out quickly....I should have known something wasn’t right since there were many behind the glass. I ordered one and it was absolutely tasteless. No almond flavor whatsoever, not even vanilla. I was so disappointed. The cupcakes were supermarket grade. icing, also tasteless. They are so good at bringing a vision to life! Every year, I get my daughter’s birthday cake here. She can really replicate a picture while adding her own touches. And let me just tell you, usually the more beautiful cake. The less delicious it is, but that’s not the case here. Her cakes are moist and flavorful.
