Today I went to DQ in Dundee Rd. Northbrook IL, I am a regular customer but since today I never will step in this location. The lady that took my order was mean and it is not the first time. When I walked in I received an unexpected phone call from my mom who lives in another country so I had to respond, I step away from the cashier so that other people could place their order, then I realized that I had to go back to my office and had to place my order asap, therefore I did. But while approaching to the lady in the cashier I noticed she was looking at me mad, I asked my mom to please hold because I had to place my lunch order. I did but the voice of the lady and her face was not kindly. I kept talking to my mom since she was in a middle of an issue and needed my assistance. She finished taking my order I handed her my debit card and she asked for my ID, I gave her my ID and then since I was concern and focused talking to my mom, I stepped away forgetting I had to get my card and receipt so she scream loud to me "lady lady" you have to sign in so she spank the receipt and the pen to have me sign in. I told her I am so sorry I am in the middle of a critical family phone call and she pointed to a weird sign that says don't use your cellphone while placing your order she also said don't you read the sign? but her face expression was really mean she never was patient and kind with me. She was like next...ignoring me. The next customer was also using his cellphone while ordering, he was with his kids and she was smiling and kindly with him. I shared my thoughts with the Manager and she told me, yes I understand but you have to understand that it is frustrating for us have customers in their cellphones when placing their orders. I told her ok I understand those are your rules but she should be more respectful and kindly ask for things. She said ok I will talk to her. I deal a LOT and everyday with customers and this is not the right way to handle things and less when you are a frequent customer. Of course I never will step in this DQ, I like places where they really care about their customers and they tried to make the whole experience nice to them, regardless if there is a non major issue like this one. They must do a revision on their customer service policies and also how they treat them and deal with this kind...
Read moreI've been coming to the DQ in Northbrook for twelve years, everyone knows me. The last few years I've been taking my kids and their group of friends here for ice cream and food 2-3 times a week. This past Sunday I walked in with a group of five kids after a day at the swimming pool. We place our order for $25 and so I hand the young man my credit card. He tells me he needs to see my id or drivers license. I'm in my swimming trunks and having had my wife drive so I left the wallet at home. I tell him that I don't have it on me but will make sure to bring it next time, he responds by saying it a store policy to check id when paying with credit card. I tell him that he himself has rung me up at least 30 other times without asking for ID. He says he can't do anything and looks over me asking the next person in line to step up. One of the other parents outside offered to pay but I refused to step back into that store. Went to Baskin Robins down the street and called to speak to manager at the DQ. She went on and on about it being illegal not to carry photo identification, and that I would be in a whole lot of trouble if I was stopped by a police officer...thanks for the lecture Ice Cream Lady!! At this point as I'm eating my Baskin Robins I told her that I'm strongly considering never walking into their store again...her response was that it's my choice. Told her that I've been coming in their 2-3 times per week and have thrown baseball parties and team meetings for other sports my kids play at that place and my kids love coming there to hang out...her response is that you can't expect us to remember every single person that they service because so many people frequent their location. All I wanted was an apology, but instead I got more smart elleck remarks. Last straw was that I told her that I'm going to be forced to warn others about the rudeness that I experience and would leave some feedback online...she told me that's up to me and wished me luck. BTW Baskin Robbins cashier never asked me for id and we enjoyed some great ice-cream. In the future we'll just go down to the DQ on Lake Street or will go to downtown Northbrook...
Read moreTerrible customer service at this location!! I dealt with a young man when placing an order over the phone and he refused to allow me to upgrade my order from fries to onion rings on my value meal. He told me this was not allowed. I explained that I was able to do this when ordering on line and I understood there would be an addt'l charge. He still refused! When I asked for the manager he told me "Lose your attitude or I will refuse your order". He then explained that his name was "Andrew" and he is the manager! How sad! I then asked for his boss, he said he did not have to tell me that and eventually told me that his parents owned the place and he is the manager. He ended up hanging up on me! We placed our order elsewhere. I am a customer service manager for over 25 years in a nearby company . I can not even imagine ever speaking to a paying customer this way! As if he was doing ME a favor! Obviously this establishment does not follow the rules of customer service whatsoever! We have had several incidents of poor customer service at this location over the years...but NOTHING to this level. Absolutely appalling! Over the years myself and my coworkers have ordered frequently from this location for years. Not a good way to treat a long time, regular customer. Especially when she works nearby and many of her team members also "used to " frequent this location! NEVER AGAIN! Thanks to...
