Tried Parry's last night for the first time and we were happy! The staff was friendly, our server(gentleman with glasses and a green shirt) was very nice, attentive, and worked with a sense of urgency to keep everyone around the joint fed, watered, and happy.
We were able to enjoy the evening on the outdoor patio with our puppy which was great. I don't go nuts for sports bars, but the place has a cool look and a VERY respectable beer list. Plus, the $4/$3 pint deal is a great value considering the short selection includes choices from Great Divide, Left Hand, and WeldWorks.
We ordered The Pearl(plus oregano) and their "Italian salad"(which for anyone in the know is their antipasto) and I enjoyed an excellent Strawberry Rhubarb Sour from Great Divide. Overall, it was really, really tasty. I'm a half Italian transplant, now resident to the Front Range for a few years, from NY/CT. Chasing good pizza is a hobby of mine. I was really impressed with the antipasto. I felt they could and should throw some more meat in there, but it was high quality right down to the heirloom tomatoes, artichokes, and dressing. I would normally order a pizza with sauce to try a place, but we went with The Pearl(a white pizza) to keep it lighter as it was late.
The flavor was great, the ratios were pretty good, and we were very happy. I couldn't help but notice that this pizza has all the makings of a 10/10 White Clam pie if only they offered clam as a topping option, but I understand it's not popular as you get away from the coast. The crust was missing the crisp, which is something that I really need in order to love a pizza joint, PARTICULARLY if they advertise "NY STYLE PIZZA". It separates the good from the great, along with other key factors they do pretty well. But, we have half a pie left over and I'm sure it will be even better after reheating in the oven.
I did also notice the place getting even busier around 21:30 hours, and the service slowed down. The staff was working hard, they could just use a couple extra bodies on Friday night at prime drinking time. It took longer to pay and get out of there than it did to get our food, which should count as credit to the kitchen for excellent ticket times!
We liked Parry's and will be back! Thanks for a...
Read moreLove Parrys but PLEASE BEWARE if you order delivery!!*
We live close so we frequent Parrys often. Parrys was our first dinner when we moved to Colorado a few months back and the service and food were phenomenal. The person who sat us was kind, welcoming and even gave us free parm bites for our first time visiting.
I ordered delivery tonight to have food delivered right when I got done with my 12 hour shift at the hospital and had a nightmare of a situation. I kept getting notifications that my door dash driver was having issues delivering so I called Parrys to figure this out. I was told that they don’t always have delivery staff and often contract out to DoorDash for deliveries. Problem is, if there is an issue with delivery, there is really nothing Parrys can do besides hope for the best and refund if the order does not get delivered. The people I talked to on the phone at Parrys were not helpful and I felt as though they didn’t care about my delivery having issues and seemed to laugh the issue away.
Biggest problem; the so called dashers that were having trouble delivering my order were right outside my door waiting in their car and not delivering my order. The only reason I found this out is because I decided I would drive around the block to see if I can track them down because they are so called “lost”. I saw pizza on the passengers lap so I went to the window and they said “oh, order for Gabrielle?” Like I haven’t been on the phone for the last 10 minutes with Parry’s + DoorDash trying to get my order.
This was a terrible experience and I will never order delivery from Parry’s again. Worst part is you don’t know they are going through DoorDash. You place an order online through their website and they contract it out to DoorDash. I wish I would’ve known this prior to ordering because I never would’ve bothered ordering in the first place.
Definitely dine in if you choose to eat here! What a stressful 15-20 minutes trying to find my order only to eat cold pizza and wings because of the issue....
Read moreWe have frequented Parry's for a few years. We usually go mid-afternoon for pizza and beers. Today Nov. 7th, 2021 we ordered pick up and had a terrible experience. We ordered at 5:05 pm for a 6:00 pm pick up time. I walked in just before 6 and expected to wait for a few minutes. After over 20 minutes of waiting, the manager was near me and I mentioned I had been waiting awhile. He told me the pizza had been given to someone else with the same name and we had a new pizza in the oven. No apology, no compensation; it was in the oven. I watched the kids working the front go back and forth to the kitchen countless times, politely acknowledge others walking in, and work hard at their jobs. They are good kids, working hard in a staff shortage; I totally understand and acknowledge this. After waiting for nearly 40 minutes I finally asked one of them to talk to the manager again. Waiting another 5 minutes the manager walked up to me with the pizza. I said I'd rather have our money back, he did say he'd comp us for the pizza. He said the kids up here are new and young and they made a mistake. Again he did not apology just gave excuses and threw these kids under the bus. I'm not saying it wasn't their fault but I've owned a small business for 10 years; I do not throw my employees under the bus (especially those that are working hard... mistakes happen); instead, I apologize to the customer, I acknowledge a mistake was made and I tell them from the beginning we will do something to make it right.
Unfortunately none of this happened, he blamed the kids but also said they were young and learning (I get this). He never apologized. He did comp us for the pizza; thank goodness because the pizza was not up to par for Parry's. Getting home the outside crust was burnt, the inside under cooked. Just disappointed, hope they turn things around. In the meantime, we will not frequent a place that has such poor...
