I usually don't write reviews but I was deeply disappointed. I did research online and saw how many stars this restaurant had a received and decided to try them out. First, I can say the staff gave great customer service; they were very friendly. I saw a lot of people coming through the drive thru so I was looking forward to trying the food. Well, there was a problem with their gas so it took longer for my order to get ready. I didn't mind. I left and came back and my order was finally ready.
Complaints: Food was cold- I wasn't gone very long, I live may 10 minutes away. Once I got home my food was sort of cold; I went straight home. It wasn't as hot as you would expect food just coming out. Food had a strange taste- I ordered the sesame chicken. I have had it at other restaurants and it has always had a sweet taste to it or it has an orange-red colored sauce. Well, this sesame chicken had a brown sauce and was sort of salty; almost like they poured soy sauce over it. It left a sour after taste in my mouth. I ordered the vegetable fried rice and it was cold; no taste to it. Food made me sick- The only thing that tasted good was the spring roll I ordered; it was cold. However, the food was undesirable so I stopped eating it. Shortly after eating the food, I began to feel nauseated and my stomach began bubbling. I immediately went to the bathroom and began vomiting up the food I had eaten. I soon after had diarrhea.
That was my first and last time eating there. I hope that my experience was attributed to them having issues with the gas and not the norm especially based on the many good reviews. However, I will not be eating there again to find out if that...
Read moreI'll start by saying I love Pearl Garden's food. We come 1-2 times a month and always enjoy our food. However, tonight we came in at 8:25 after the basketball game. My husband and I were immediately met with a hostile server. She took our order, brought the food, and never came back. What really bothers me though, is that there were 2 other tables with white customers and they were given much different service than us. She smiled and laughed with them; but would hardly look at us. After waiting almost 10 minutes, another server brought our check and asked if we needed anything. We said no, and she turned away without saying another word. As we were leaving, one of the other tables was paying and that server was so friendly and told him to have a great night. We walked out without anyone saying a kind word to us.
We have never had this kind of experience before. It will take me a while to go back and if I do, I will never dine in again. Those employees were racist and so rude to us. It will be hard to spend our money...

In the past, I have tolerated poor customer service primarily by the couple owners and another female employee who never greeted with politeness. Kevin the manager, is the exception. I have, in the past, also had the unfortunate experience of missed items or poor food quality, all realized only when I reached my house. This time after reaching home from their drive-thru, I called and demanded a refund by phone since they gave us very overcooked (some burnt) and mushy rice with subpar chicken, but they refused to do this over the phone and wanted me to come back to the restaurant and present the bad food to them. This has happened before, inconveniencing me and forcing me to go back to the restaurant. The owners never apologized or tried to determine what was wrong with the food.
