Thai Fresh — Restaurant in Northville Charter Township

Thai Fresh had me with my face in a garbage can vomiting while seated on the toilet for like 2 hours before I could get the strength to take the food back for a full refund. It took a total of 15 phone calls to do this in that I was repeatedly hung up on as I tried to find a remedy. Because I still didn't feel well the guy who answered the phone agreed to bring my full refund to my car in exchange for the faulty meal. When I arrived it took 5 demeaning phone calls from a young Asian woman who identified herself as the manager. She had waited on me before without incident so she knows that I'm always calm, polite and happy to eat there. However when I tried to get my money back she turned into CUSTOMER SERVICE FROM HELL. Despite the fact that I was doubled-over in the car and visibly sick and half-dressed she kept insisting that I come into the restaurant. When it became evident that I was completely unable to come in she came out to my car. She examined the returned food to make sure that it was mostly there… I asked her, "Why do you think that I would steal food that made me sick when up to this point we've never had a problems?" Even after she examined the food SHE STILL HELD MY REFUND HOSTAGE because she insisted that I needed to listen to what she had to say. Finally, I hollered "I'M SICK!!! GIVE ME MY MONEY!!! I WANT TO GO HOME!!!" and "YOU SHOULDN'T WANT ME TO COME INTO YOUR RESTAURANT TO VOMIT IN FRONT OF THE OTHER CUSTOMERS!! WHAT'S WRONG WITH YOU??? GIVE ME MY MONEY YOU HAVE YOUR FOOD!!!" This Asian-trash manager then states, "We don't cater to you here. This is not a drive-thru. And, you're rude." All of this because the alleged chicken was prepared in a manner that made me violently ill. I WILL NEVER EAT HERE AGAIN EAT AT...

While this place has amazing food and MOST of the staff is genuinely incredible, a small group of friends and I will NEVER go back, and that actually makes me incredibly upset. This started about a year ago, when we had received incredibly poor service (waiting almost half an hour for even water on the table when we were one of only two tables, among other issues) and had still tipped, just low. We both understand the importance of tipping and I will not go somewhere if I cannot tip. Since then, two older waitresses has consistently made a point of circling the suggested tip and flat out telling us to tip while watching us fill out the receipt, but still never tipped below 15-20% again. We have consistently given them more chances because we do genuinely love the restaurant. Today, however, the waitress specifically said that my boyfriend and I never tip, which is a bold faced lie. She said this in front of our friends who know we tip and tip well. I called her out on this and she flat out called me a liar to my face, saying that we frequently do not tip. All of this was after messing up our order today, but we didn’t even mention that to her. We paid and left, and will never be going back. This is not the way to treat your customers in general, let alone regulars. I’ve been coming to this place for a couple years now and the food and service has always been great up until yesterday. I go in for a carry out order and try to pay for a $50 order with a credit card and the lady refused to take my credit card because it was an Apple credit card. This is a regular credit card by Mastercard and she wouldn’t give me a clear answer as to why. She said they can take any other credit card except for the Apple Card. Again this wasn’t Apple Pay or anything unusual. It was a very embarrassing situation as I only carry one credit card on me and don’t carry more than $20 cash and I wasn’t given any reason as to why they couldn’t take it this time even though I’ve used it here countless times without any issues.
