Denny's Restaurant — Restaurant in Norwalk

First of all when my son and I walked in I noticed that there weren't many people but the few that were looked mad and there was a family already arguing over the server n food. I still satayed and placed my order as Jazmine was our server and I ordered the bourbon steak with broccoli and red mashed potatoes my son ordered banana blueberry pancakes one coke and one coffee ...20 min later Jazmine brought the coffee and coke . I waved at her and told her she didn't give us silverware and no spoon to stir my coffee. Never came back until 40 min lateer with the food she brought me a steak and watery mashed potatoes..so I told her I'm missing my other side and the dinner bread she responded what side? Excuse me the broccoli and the dinner bread then Jazmine said I'll bring it in a bit 30 minutes later she said we're out of broccoli, so I told her then give me rice. 15-20 minutes passed no nothing I see her manager an older Mexican lady with glasses and I said excuse me.. she looked at me and rolled her eyes and kept walking to the kitchen . So I got up and went to the front counter and Jazmine said I'll be right with you , she then comes to us gets menus and was going to sit us again I told her no your not paying attention I didn't just walk on I've been here 1 hr and 45 min sitting waiting for you to bring me my sides and my drink no silverware and she said I'm sorry I forgot about u ..I'm like no u didn't you pass by sitting new walk in customers and don't acknowledge us . Your manager acts blind and deaf. So I'm just paying for the uncooked pancake my son tried to eat . She said it's $30.74 I said for what she said for the 2 pancakes and soda ..I said no go look at the table she said uh okay it's $10.25 I paid and I asked to speak to her manager and nope she was not coming out. So at this time I left . Please everyone DONT COME HERE AT NIGHT FOR DINNER . The service is horrific , the servers are very bad can't get anything right. And the manager even worse .. shitty customer service. !!! I honestly felt bad for my son , it was late and he couldn't even eat the pancakes they were raw in the middle and uncooked on the edges... Denny's Norwalk really needs to get people who can take an order , get it to the customers warm and cooked .. hope the supervisor looks in to this location it's lacking everything !...

Service by Carlos was great.

What sucked, the cleanliness of table, when arrived, sticky to hell, old coffee pot from previous customers still there, trash all under table, completely looked like someone had a small bag of trash and threw it under the table.

I ordered a bourbon caramelized onion steak. Instead, received a Dinner steak with no sauce on at all, where are the onions, the mushrooms, the sauce?

On top of it completely the wrong steak, they took it back and returned the same steak, dry and chewy as hell, they added sauce and caramelized onions and mushrooms etc.....tasted like someone freezer burned the meat and microwaved it.

The appetizers were cold upon receiving.

58$ on a meal with my pregnant wife, I gave the decent tip to the server for being excellent towards us, but management needs helping keeping this place together.

I was overly embarrassed for them.

Imagine not being able to eat for more than 24 hrs due to life, hoping to get a decent meal finally, instead come to this and pay pretty much 80$ (this is including tip) to receive this kind of service from the cook and general work team in this Denny's.

Thanks server for being nice towards us and not giving us any attitude when we were honest about everything. This is the only reason for the extra star Instead of 1.

My lesson, go to a steakhouse for steak, go to a restaurant with more than 4.5 rating. (This one's at 4.2)

Killed my appetite and felt the worst due to the...

I find it really ironic that I always come to this Denny's and I have never ever had any issue. This is my GO TO spot with my friends. If I could I would give this place 0 stars.

I came the other night late and unfortunately none of us had masks , as we are all fully vaccinated. On top of it the dining room was empty. There was no other dining guests on site. The server didn't even acknowledge us and straight up ignored us. When we looked over to get seated " She quickly said no mask I cannot serve you " Obviously irritated because it was late and we are hungry we proceeded to see if we can cover our faces with our shirts and still no. With a nasty attitude she stated we cannot serve you at all , regardless.

Tell me why I come again to this same Denny's days later ,I get seated with my friends. And throughout the night multiple , I mean multiple guys were being seated without masks and the server who denied us service ALLOWED all these other guests to come in without mask. This servers name was Esmeralda, worst etiquette and customer service ever. When I asked her " is there a mask policy in place here " she quickly stated "Yes". And I proceeded to ask then why were we quickly refused service BY YOU when all these other people just walked in without face masks. Hence at this time the dining area was FULL with lots of guests.
