Owners very friendly. The server that hosted was the opposite, awful customer service. I won't go back again. Worst treath I've ever received. Shame cause I really like their food

Wow, I would have expected a more professional response from this administration, but I now realize the entire team operates the same way. A surprise for anyone reading this review.
And since you went through the trouble of providing context, there’s a part of the story you conveniently left out. The truth is, I was already inside the restaurant with a companion, and yes, my intention was to go out to the patio in order to eat. The information shouldn’t be manipulated to make it seem like things happened differently or as if I was trying to be inside with my dog.
When I tried to go out to the patio — which is the designated pet-friendly area — the employee, Tatiana, very rudely insisted that we exit through the back door and walk around the entire block, even though we were just a few steps away from the patio. That, in any case, comes off as being kicked out of the place, and honestly, it felt humiliating.
However, I don’t think the issue here is really about pets or your policies, which are completely understandable and acceptable. The point is that when you approach a customer, they should be treated with respect and courtesy. But clearly, that’s not something that concerns you.
I’m not surprised, and that’s fine — it doesn’t affect me in the slightest. A business without customers is nothing. I should also mention that I had stopped going for several months because I always seemed to have some kind of issue at that place. I tried giving it another chance, but it seems that was a big mistake.
“Lowering ourselves”? What a response — it sounds like something a kindergartener would say when replying to a review. I just hope others don’t have to go through the kind of bad experience you made...
Read moreA piece of home away from home ❤️ Originally from Mérida, Venezuela, I’ve lived in CT for a little over 2 years now and this is where me and my partner (also Venezuelan) go to celebrate special occasions, or just whenever we feel like having a taste of home! We’ve brought our American friends and they all love their food too (especially the arepas—they have a thing for their Reina Pepiada haha) but everything—appetizers, entrees, desserts, drinks— I’ve had have been delicious! We will literally drive about an hour each time to go say hi and have some of those yummy tequeños lol
I cannot pick one thing only but last time we went we ordered some of the arepitas saladas for the first time and they were SO so good. The chicha is also excellent. From the food to the service, they offer a great, heart-warming experience, making you feel at home from the second you walk in. They are always happy and excited to provide good eats and a wonderful time! Go try them out so you can see for yourself :)
Gracias La Calle Arepas bar 💛❤️💙 son los mejores!

Read moreYou had me at arepas!
This place definitely brought me home especially because in this area there aren’t many Venezuelan spots and it’s so hard to get your tequeño fix.
I love was so happy with the drink selection you can get frescolita, tamarind juice, panela and even chicha! Literally transporting back to Venezuela right now.
Food wise there are so many options: tequeños, arepas, empanadas, cachapas, pabellon, patacones and more!
I have to say the tequeños were a huge let down. The cheese is definitely not the right one and almost melts right in the dough. The arepas were delicious as well as the cachapas. Again. I felt like I got a little fix from home but not fully fully authentic. Like I said, just happy to have a place like this in the area! Wish they also sold mandocas.
The arepa vegana is was to die for. The black beans are the best ever!!!!!!!!!!! And the sweet plantain touch was just amazing.
Other than that such a great little spot to come to. Small outside seating area and plenty of indoor space. Great people...
