I’ll start off with the positives. I went there for lunch and got the enchilada plate. They had chicken, pork, and beef choices so I asked for one of each, but they came back and said they could only do two, although I don’t know why. I chose chicken and pork and they mix them together so all three enchiladas tasted the same. I wasn’t a huge fan of the pork taste, but that’s on me, and I generally thought the enchilada plate was very well done overall, so I’ll give that entree five stars. I thought the atmosphere was fine, it was exactly as expected, and the wait staff were very attentive, but there were only two tables in the restaurant during lunch, so I’m sure that helped. But overall the staff was fine - no complaints. As for the negatives, the biggest problem that I had was with the chips and salsa. I love chips and salsa before the entrées, and I was really looking forward to it. And I think it’s wonderful that they offer it for free, which is how I grew up eating at Mexican restaurants. But the chips and salsa that came out were very disappointing. It was just a small handful of chips scattered on a plate with a very small container of plain salsa - it was actually more like hot sauce. I guess I’m just used to other Mexican restaurants that have flavorful sauces, or something more similar to pico de gallo. The salsa here was essentially hot sauce, which was not what I had in mind when I chose this restaurant. I know the other reviews are very positive of this place, and yes, the food, atmosphere, and staff were all great, other than the chips and salsa. For me that’s a dealbreaker. I’m going to be searching for other Mexican restaurants around Norwalk that have better free chips and salsas, because I care just as much about that as I do...

I was initially very excited to try MexSpot on Connecticut Avenue, as it seemed like a promising place for great Mexican food. Unfortunately, my experiences have been disappointing, largely due to repeated errors and poor customer service.
On two separate occasions, my orders were incorrect. When I ordered habanero wings, I received plain wings. When I ordered beef ribs, I was given pork ribs. Even when I requested no sour cream on my nachos, sour cream was added. Mistakes happen, and I consider myself patient and understanding, but the lack of care in fulfilling orders was frustrating.
What ultimately led to this two-star review was the attitude of one employee, a man with neck tattoos, whose name I do not know. When I picked up my order and politely confirmed that my requests had been followed (no sour cream, habanero wings), he assured me they were correct. Upon checking, I discovered they were not. When I kindly asked to return the incorrect items, he became visibly frustrated and dismissive, saying, “You know what, just take your money and go.”
While the woman at the counter was kind and offered to remake the food, this man not only shifted blame onto me for his misunderstanding but also completely dismissed my willingness to wait for a corrected order.
The food might have been great, but the consistent mistakes and lack of professionalism overshadowed the experience. Unfortunately, I won’t...

Really awful. Roll looked nice. Chips were very good and salsa was good enough and waiter was courteous. The decor and ambiance were nice, but the place was empty. My chicken torta would have been better if it wasn’t smothered in Goya adobado sauce, had a good amount of lettuce and tomato and if the chicken were grilled as I requested, rather than chopped and stir-fried in lots of salty sauce. But really it was the huge amount of broiled cheap cheese that ruined it. They should consider buying a quality queso oaxaca or cotilla cheese instead of the processed stuff. I didn’t have time to ask them to remake it so I just picked at the chicken and chips and salsa. I had some of my brothers rice and beans, which were good. But my fries were the kind coated in that food scientist-invented crusty powder that keeps them from going soggy when sitting around, but tastes off and processed. ...
