I called to ask about their red curry as thats a common Thai dish and the lady on the phone directed me to the website. I asked her why she couldn't tell me what's in the red curry and she said they have many curries. Guess she ignored my question. So I checked their menu online and it's honestly just a blurry mess. They have many curries, but their red curry is called Gang Gai so I called back and ordered. I asked for veggie Tom Yum and she insisted I picked a meat, which I insisted it should be veggie only. I also ordered Larb (laab) chicken, and all three dishes came SWEET! I am from Isaan, I know what a "Laab" is suppose to taste like and it definitely should not have that much sugar - if not at all. Gang Phet is suppose to be between sweet & more savoury, not just sweet. Upon picking up food, I noticed they have hand written note right up at the front counter stating to customers that if they ordered the wrong dish, they will not replace or refund it. Makes sense why the lady in the phone was so short and dismissive when I had questions about their menu, she was already on the defense. She even avoided me when I picked up the food, a gentlemen cashed me out instead.
Maybe they should redo their menu so it's less confusing to customers or maybe they should read back orders as to confirm that's what customers want, then they won't have a problem with the misunderstanding.

Read moreThe service has definitely been on the decline. I came at lunch and they give you soup which had chicken in it. I let the waitress know that I don't eat meat. She also brought out shrimp chips, I let her know I do eat seafood though. When I received my bill I noticed I was charged for the dinner portion. It was then explained to me that bc I had requested no fish sauce that I was charged for the dinner portion. I never requested anything be omitted from my dish, I asked for it to simply be cooked with fried tofu. The waitress who took my order accused me of requesting the vegetarian meal but I reminded her I did let her know I eat fish when I told her she could leave the shrimp chips, so fish and oyster sauce are included in what I can eat. I also said that I did not at any time request any special provisions I just didn't want the chicken soup. I would have appreciated her trying to be considerate of me, however misinformed she was, but she rang me up with an attitude and immediately walked away when she was done. The food is still great but in the future I'll opt...
Read moreNovi Siam Spicy might not look like much from the facade, but it's actually a great place to get Thai food in the Novi Area. It's very close to 12 Oaks and Fountain Walk, and has plenty of parking in the adjacent private lot.
I've been here a few times with friends (usually on Friday or Saturday nights) and it's normally not too packed, so it's easy to get a table. There's plenty to choose from in the menu, including most if not all of the standard Thai restaurant favorites. Once you've ordered, your food arrives quickly, and the portion sizes are pretty large, so many people will be able to get two meals out of their order here. Be careful with the spice rating, I've got a very high spice tolerance and their "Spicy" rating was just about enough to get me sweating. The average person will probably be happy with a Mild+ or Medium rating. The taste is solid, and definitely not cheap tasting.
Overall, Novi Siam Spicy is a reasonably priced option and a great value for Thai...
