Tropical Smoothie Cafe — Restaurant in Novi

I stopped in on Monday evening at exactly 8:30pm to order an açai bowl. When I went to go order, the young lady told me that they were not accepting food orders anymore, including açai bowls, and they were only making smoothies… which didn’t make any sense because the same ingredients used to make a smoothie, are used to make açai bowls (minus the granola). I’ve placed orders past 8:30pm on the app and they’ve been fulfilled with no issues but it seems like if you try to walk into the establishment and place your order past that time, it’s a problem, so they’re very inconsistent. I called and spoke to the manager, who didn’t really seem to sound like she cared. She offered no apology for the inconvenience (which is the least she could’ve done). She said she would speak to her staff, but I highly doubt it.

If you’ve read this far, per management, food, including açai bowls are served up...

I came into the store October 26 at 6:50 PM.

There was a young man (employee) standing at the cash register. He was talking to the 2 other young women that were working. After greeting me, he told me that they were no longer making sandwiches for the night, and were only making smoothies because they were shorthanded. How are you all open and making anything while shortstaffed? Meanwhile, I watched a young lady in the back making a sandwich.

The level of laziness shocked me to the point that I did not want to argue.

Lazy people do not need to work in customer service.

This is the 4th location that was not good. I'm done with Tropical Smoothie! They seem to hire just anyone! The employees there act weird, look at me funny, and you have to walk up to them before they even say Hello (like tonight). I wonder if my skin color has anything to do with it. They are...

On this particular day. ( could be the luck of the draw. Don't typically have any issues or signs of concern) I was with my mom and she orders her her wrap with a kale slaw. I ordered the jerk chicken and chips. We sit down and wait. I realized I didn't get my chips so I go back to the front and tell the young guy I didn't get the chips. He says ok and I get some. We get our meal, once we get to the car realizes she does t have her kale slaw. Go inside and the guy says "we are out of the slaw, here have some chips". Nothing against him or anything but it would of been helpful if when placing the order to know that bit of information. Also the countertop had tons of dropped fruit on it.
