New King Chef — Restaurant in Nutley

I noticed my chicken was undercooked and called back to explain what I found. The manager told me to bring it back and that they’d give me a new order. There was a couple dining in and a customer at the counter, so obviously she tried to discredit me by saying that it isn’t undercooked and that I should’ve asked for it to be well done. Um… chicken should always be well done or else you get salmonella! She got an attitude and said I could either get my money back or get a new order. The chef was trying to be nice and understanding - which I appreciated - and told me he already prepared my new order, but it was up to me. I asked him for the new order and the manager very sarcastically asked if I wanted to check it. I said yes and cut the chicken in front of her and the chef, and of course, it was perfectly cooked. The chef agreed that chicken is supposed to look WHITE and she just yelled at him in their native language. I left and she was undoubtedly cursing me out in her native language, but I could care less. I wasn’t going to get sick because of their negligence, and by the looks of other reviews, this isn’t the only time they’ve served undercooked...

We went here because of previous reviews and were greatly disappointed because the food was mediocre. They used freezer burned peas and carrots in the rice. The Spring roll and Egg rolls were very greasy. The cashier was not very mindful and made a mistake when ringing us up and then gave us a big attitude which was uncalled for.

I bought a bottle of Poland Spring and it tasted terrible. I should have saved the bottle and called the company to see if the water was legit or they put a Poland Spring label on filtered water from another company. To boot, they do not recycle here. Very bad for the environment.

I cannot believe I paid $13 for a container of broccoli and 3 pieces of scallop without any seasoning. When calling, the person who picked up said they confirmed with the chef that they put 6 pieces. Even 6 is low for an expensive dish especially without flavor. It was disgusting eating unflavored scallop with steamed watered broccoli. I was disappointed as its a typical dish I order from a place in Lyndhurst which they are not shy with the quantity and amazing taste. Good enough that I would think about it at work and order it here. I called and to let them know and they didn't want to be bothered. Service 0; Food 0. I will go next town over...
