Violante's Meat Market — Restaurant in Nutley

This place is awesome 👌👏!!!!! It reminds me of what Italian delis use to be. I originally found out about this place through my girlfriend who works near by and boy am I glad she did!

To start out they have hot lunch specials everyday and who didn't love a home cooked tasting hot lunch? They have all the regular Italian deli cold cuts you would come to expect along with the refrigerated olives, salads, chicken cutlets, etc. It reminds me of being a kid.

The uniqueness and I believe how you can tell the business has been generational is from the extras that only a new generation adds to the business that you would not come to expect from your basic Italian deli, making Violante's far from your basic mozzarella dealer! They offer a real deal butcher shop inside the store, the cuts of meat and selection makes me hungry talking about.

Catering Catering Catering!!!! Not the go pick up some trays type of catering either. The type that comes to you and brings a trailer of happiness with them. I have not been able to have had the opportunity to try what I can only imagine is what I would hope the menu in heaven would like.

The owner has always been very welcoming and I notice shares some similar hobbies, woodworking! Sharing his dope looking cutting boards that side note would love to sell for...

I love Violante's. They make you feel like a welcome family member as you walk in the door!

When we first went there, they went out of their way to make a smaller version of a party platter for the two of us. That kind of customer service speaks volumes. And we go back weekly because the products are great and we appreciate the effort that they make with their customers. In these days where a lot of customer service is non-existent, I will always patronize the ones who get it right.

Great quality, great service. Everything we have gotten from there has been terrific.

Update - Violante's did our catering for our 2024 Christmas Eve gathering. Our regular caterer went out of business, and we were in a real bind.

There were almost no leftovers - which never happened before! Everything was fresh, and looked wonderful.

Violante’s in Nutley on Franklin Ave is an excellent Italian food market. Everywhere you look, you will find delicious meats from the butcher to mouth watering sandwiches at the deli counter and sweet bakery desserts.

A great butcher is rare these days and my family has been shopping here since 1985 (originally at the Bloomfield location). This family owned business is truly heaven with the modernized upgrades and decor. Junior is a “treat” as well !!! 😊

The food is fresh and delicious with a large variety of choices to select. As you walk through the doors everyone is extremely welcoming and helpful. It’s apparent that they LOVE their customers and call many by name.
