Update.....
Tonight's meal was better. Crispy Gau gee mein was great as usual. We also tried the shrimp Canton which was decent 3.5/5. The shrimp was big and the breading was good and not too much. I didn't care for the sauce which was the same for the sweet sour chicken we had. The chicken matched better with the sauce. Chicken was moist and breading was light.
The real star was the crispy green beans. They weren't over cooked, still had a nice crunch to it. They were cooked with a little bit of pork I think and tons of garlic. Soooo goooood! A new family favorite.
I'm excited to see if there are more gems on their menu. Until next time...

I need a good Chinese restaurant. I suppose this place is good enough. It's close to home and its decently priced.
We got their crispy gau gee mein, honey walnut shrimp, general tsos chicken, and crab rangoons. Their gau gee mein was great! Lots of flavor, lots of veggies and meat, and delicious crispy flavorful gau gee. The honey walnut shrimp was not good. I did not like it, the sauce was this kind of milky flavored sauce that I really did not care for. The general tsos chicken was decent. The chicken was moist and had good flavor but it wasn't anything great. The crab Rangoon I would definitely not get again.
I wasn't super impressed with the food there, but I want to try other things there since their gau gee mein was on point. More to...
Read moreThis restaurant is so spectacular, I wish there was an option to rate it 5+ stars!! We all came in hungry an looking for a good, hearty dinner. The restaurant was clean, organized, and super spacious. I cannot emphasize how clean the restaurant was! It had a fresh scent and the floor was so clean! We ordered around 5 dishes and all the food was delicious and very well plated! The food portions were huge and the prices were extremely low considering current inflation and the portion size. As someone who's pallette is mainly traditional Chinese food, orange chicken and chow mein isn't always my go to choice. This restaurant offered a variety of choices, including non-traditional and traditional dishes. The pot roast pork with taro was rich, luscious, and flavorful. The eggplant was also very surprising and scrumptious. I wasn't expecting Chinese eggplant. The ingredients are very high quality and the food was overall really nice. Our waitress did an outstanding job of serving us and taking our orders. Waters and food came out really quick. One of our dishes was a little hard to chew, so we asked for it to be steamed a little longer. Waitress brought it back to kitchen, no questions asked. Waitress was super helpful. Definitely recommend this restaurant, had a lot of different dishes and the customer...
Read moreAs a kid, I love eating at Happy Dragon in Waipahu so I was devastated when I moved back & found Happy Dragon had closed down. The only other place that could compare to Happy Dragon was Ho Ho Chinese in Kapolei. But this time I d ed coded to try a place closer to where I live, in Ewa Beach. So far, I'm going on my second time trying Taste of Hong Kong, & at a different time of day, & I've been both happy & satisfied both times. Portions are generous & food taste delicious. We haven't ventured far into their menu but so far their Char Siu fried rice, orange chicken, sweet & Sour pork, crispy gau gee & chicken chow mein, Kung Pao chicken, honey walnut shrimp, & beef broccoli have all been delicious. So...
