My go to place for poke. I mean, some of the poke specialty stores are good, but this is probably my favorite.
I do most of our grocery shopping at Costco, but sometimes I just need a small amount of something like a single piece of fresh ginger. Before I was going to Safeway during their $5 Fridays and picking up the small other items I needed in addition to the sale items. But one day I ended up going to both stores in one day and realized that I just bought something on "sale" at Safeway and the exact item was $2 less regularly priced at Foodland. WTH. So then I started looking at other items that I just bought at Safeway to see how the prices compared. They were all pretty significantly cheaper at Foodland.
You know, I just always thought, "how much of a difference can it really be buying it at Safeway versus Foodland? I might as well just get it done here." Comparing just 4 items, I could have saved myself almost $7 from that one trip. I guess from now on, any small things I need I will just wait to get at Foodland and save...
Read moreFoodland is tucked away in the corner on the opposite side of longs. Clean and welcoming environment. The staff is usually friendly and check out time is usually fast. Fresh poke, steak plates on specific day's, bakery and everyday shopping needs. Foodland is a participant in Hawaiian Airlines. So if you have BOH Hawaiian Airlines visa debit or credit cards you are eligible for the standard milage earnings plus bonus miles (see Hawaiian Airlines website or BOH.com for more information). The parking however, is horrendous. Small parking lot and usually takes me a while to find an acceptable parking. This is definitely one of the reasons I choose to shop at Safeway. No cart return stations in the parking lot. I am someone who returns the cart back to the store or the to nearest cart return station. Foodland has none in the parking lot. Why you ask? Because parking is limited. I wish foodland had a stand alone store like Safeway where parking is more accessible...
Read moreI suffered a fall at this Foodland due to poorly maintained property, filled out an incident report with the manager, have been to the ER. and have missed a lot of work for care of this injury, have undergone several medical procedures along with multiple medical appointments. I have been unable to work in my career, cannot walk, have continued and constant pain and swelling. The response from Foodland has been crickets. I am being utterly ignored by Foodland. I have still not been given the name of the insurance adjuster or their insurance company, the manager hasn't returned my phone calls, nobody has contacted me regarding the fall or my injuries, etc. I am in pain, unable to work, and frustrated by the level of negligence...
