Little Bit's Grill — Restaurant in Oak Island

Great experience here! We were looking for a spot to eat on our way out of town and all the breakfast spots looked packed at 10am. After being up for hours already I wasn’t really in the mood for breakfast food anyway. We decided to stop by Little Bit’s since they were just opening and had not yet gotten customers. I walked in to make sure they were actually seating customers since it was a couple minutes before 10am. They were really kind and enthusiastically told me I could sit wherever. I asked about a high chair and when I came back inside with the baby, they had one ready for us.

As for the food, I was in the mood for a burger and boy this did not disappoint! What a phenomenal burger, it was simple and no frills, a handmade cheeseburger with mayo, lettuce, tomato, onion, ketchup, and some bacon. You can get some other varieties like chili cheese burgers and all. Nothing too out there or experimental, but it was executed perfectly and we all enjoyed our burgers immensely. We did get large burgers, I was talked into it, and they were legitimately huge! I couldn’t quite finish the whole thing but not for lack of trying. Next time I’ll definitely order the small. All in all, the burger hit the spot and then some.

As for service, we could not have asked for better! Everything was very prompt and all of the staff were helpful and attentive. We grabbed a paper menu to tuck away in our luggage for next years vacation, we will 100% be frequenting Little Bits from now on.

Now keep in mind though, this may not quite be your experience depending on how busy they are. We were basically the first people in the door due to the timing, but I’m sure they get overrun during the summertime like every other business on the Island. We always try to be understanding of that and factor that into any restaurant experience. To be honest though, if the burgers come out like that every time then it would be worth the wait. I've been going to Little Bits for 9 years now, and I've always enjoyed it. Recently I went there as Little Bits daughter Kim, now owns it. I asked for a large cheeseburger and asked the waitress politely if they could cut the burger in half, because I have carpal tunnel in my wrist, and it hurts to put pressure on them. The waitress was very polite and wrote it all our orders, as I had two other friends with me. Later the waitress brought the food back and I noticed that the burger was uncut. I then asked her if she could again have it cut in half, and Kim yelled at me and said you'll have to cut it yourself!! I was so embarrassed and humiliated, that one of my friends said that we should get up and walk out and leave the food on the table. I told him, out of respect for Little Bit, we'll eat what they brought us. But I told both my friend's sitting there, that this is the last time I'll ever come back here. They both agreed and said they didn't blame, and they will also never go back there again, as her rudeness was unexcusable. While on vacation in October, my family decided to try out Little Bit's Grill. We were ordering to go and it was our first time visiting this establishment.

Granted the grill was extremely busy, however, the lady running the register that was going to take my order was rude and acted very annoyed at my questions.

I asked her if this was the way she treated her customers and if so did she ever expect them to come back.

She walked off and ignored us for a while then finally came back to take my order.

We order 5 burgers, fries and onion rings. She said it would be a 20 minute wait, so I told her we would come back to pick up the order. My daughter went back in to pick up the order and the lady did apologize for her rudeness. But the damage was already done.

The food was awful with the exception of the onion rings. The burgers had no flavor and were so messy we could not even pick up the sandwich. They looked like they were made by a 4 year old.
