My first complaint is that there is no phone # associated with this restaurant and no online ordering system. Second complaint, which is major for me, there were NO prices for anything on their online menu. So, I went in blind last night and ended up paying $71 (minus the $6.60 tax) on food for 3 adults. For one order of chips/guacamole, 8 tacos, 4 orders of churros, and a âcustom itemâ of sour cream. The bag of chips was small, the container of guac was a reasonable size and well made. The chicken tacos at $4.50 each were so-so, Iâve had better. The whitefish taco at $5 looked good but it was small. The carne asada tacos at $5 each were, again, good but Iâve had better. My son said his carnitas taco at $4.50 was good. The âcustom itemâ of sour cream was not even a teaspoon of crema in the bottom of one of those tiny plastic containers that most Mexican restaurants toss by the handful into your takeout bag. There was not enough to put on anything. A tiny liquid dribble at best. When I ordered 4 churros I assumed Iâd be receiving 4 of the âfingerâ variety at maybe $1.00 each. What they gave me was 2 styrofoam containers each holding 2 orders. I thought they seemed heavy for 4 pieces of dough and why 2 containers? When we opened them later for dessert we found 10 churro rings each about 2â in diameter. They were decent, my grandson loved them, but theyâd been so soaked in cinnamon and sugar, it was too strong for me. So my order of â4 churrosâ ended up costing $24, meaning each order is 5 rings for $6.00. Their prices are crazy, the food was ok but the portions were small. Also, please use two corn tortillas per taco! One just does not work. I wish them luck but I doubt...
Read moreOverall way too pricey that simply isnât worth the food that you get. Will need to spend 20+ EASILY to have a decent meal. Wonât be back.
In my 24 years of living, I have never seen a $5 taco ever before. After seeing the prices, I was unable to evade the thoughts that this restaurant was blatantly taking advantage of the widely known oak park gentrification. It shot up the expectations extremely high for being set to that price. My initial thoughts were that the restaurant was really nicely designed and I enjoyed actually being in the restaurant.
The first week was extremely busy but since then, I havenât really seen much business since, probably because of the same experience I had.
I ordered two tacos, one steak and the other I canât even remember even though I just had it. Both coming out to already $10. Based off the price, I fully expected the size of the tacos to be a little bigger. I got home around the block and opened my box and realized that I wasnât having a meal, I was having a snack. The tacos were pretty small. I first ate the steak taco and was thoroughly unimpressed. I ordered around 530pm (a normal dinner time) and the steak felt like it was sitting out for awhile losing its juices. The tortilla and the salsas were actually fantastic and the reason I didnât rate this a 1 star. But other than that, they were the most mediocre tacos Iâve ever eaten. The food is marked up about 40% of what it should actually be priced.
The second taco I had made me consider wanting to get a covid test because I honestly tasted no seasoning or taste along with the meat.
I probably wonât be back here unless I hit...

As I stepped into this unassuming eatery in the middle of the afternoon, my skepticism lingered. After all, Oak Park is renowned for its plethora of tantalizing taco joints, each one boasting bold flavors and authentic ingredients.
Yet, as the first bite of tacos touched my lips, any doubts were swiftly swept away. These were no ordinary tacosâeach one was a symphony of flavor, a harmonious blend of savory meats, vibrant spices, and fresh garnishes. Priced at $5 each, they were a steal considering the generous portions and the explosion of taste with every mouthful.
I sampled both the chicken Al Pastor and the steak tacos, and each one left me craving more. The chicken was tender and marinated to perfection, while the steak was juicy and packed with smoky goodness. Paired with crisp lettuce, tangy salsa, and creamy guacamole, each taco was a culinary masterpiece in its own right.
But it wasn't just the food that left an impressionâthe staff exuded warmth and hospitality, making me feel right at home. The vibe was relaxed and inviting, the perfect backdrop for indulging in these tantalizing treats.
