Adega was recommended to me by 2 different people so I decided to give it a try on a Wednesday night with 2 other friends to avoid the crowds. The venue is nice, well thought out, clean and semi-modern. Considering that it’s located on OBT, I wasn’t expecting too much, but honestly was pleasantly surprised. Here’s the short and the sweet of my experience. The meats offered by this Brazilian Steakhouse are second to none; well seasoned, beyond tasty, and flat out delicious! I felt as though they offered more varieties than your chain steakhouses (Texas, Fogo, etc.) which also included ribs! The Gaucho’s are very attentive, respectful, and willing to please by getting you any type of meat you request at whatever temperature you desire. My friends and I were blown away. Where this restaurant missed the mark is in service. In summary, at least on our visit, our server never brought the table water, forgot a glass of wine we ordered at the bar for 25 minutes, and we had to hunt him down 3 times to get refills on our soft drinks. Adding to this, we ordered 3 side dishes (which are not as tasty as the BBQ) that didn’t arrive until 40 minutes after we sat down and were already done eating, for which they only brought 2 even though we ordered 3. Our server Arthur never cleared our plates (which you know is critical in a restaurant of this style) to make way for clean plates or post salad bar eating. We ultimately had to pile them up off to the side before some other random server got the message. All that said, this place is on average $20 per person cheaper than your traditional Churascaria’s and the food is actually better. The only downside is, you’ll pay for that in lack of service. After asking a Gaucho to hunt down our check, we watched across the room as he told the General Manager we did not have a great experience. The manager walked to the table, laid the check in the middle, and said “Sorry”, then walked away. It actually was kind of funny. So what’s the verdict. I loved this place - the food is absolutely delicious (sans the side dishes), it’s cheaper, the environment is great, and the atmosphere is casual and non pretentious. I love the fact that it’s casual enough for “just going out to eat” but still have all meat your heart desires without having to put on your fancy clothes. You won’t break the bank either. The only problem is, the service wasn’t even minimally acceptable - and when you’ve paid the server a $45.00 tip on a $200 check, you almost feel dirty about it. Nonetheless, I struggled in writing this review because I hope this place succeeds as they produce some high quality food. Service can be trained, managers can be replaced, but producing great food is what it’s all about, and for me, they’ve certainly accomplished that. Will I go back - Yes, but with full expectation that the savings in price comes with a reduction in service. As long as you walk into it comfortable with that, then I think you’ll like this restaurant - a lot in fact. Who knows, maybe the Server Andre and his Manager were just having an off day - certainly worthy of a second chance to...
Read moreOrlando! What a jewel you have! Adega was an absolute success with our dining party. We did a web search for BEST Brazilian steakhouse about 3 popped up and this one was our preferred pick.
We were completely surprised at the welcoming and accomodating staff. Every member was so kind, helpful and eager to make our experience the best. Adega restaurant was extremely clean,( I visited the restrooms, although small very clean!) The restaurant was very large and beautifully laid out. We were suprised how large it was once inside. We were stunned and excited to enjoy this experience!
Now on to the food! YUM!!! Before you even get to the meat you are given access to the amazing food bar full of delights. They have a hot service bar that included on our visit a bean dish, rice with meat, and the special of the day - I believe we had a chicken option, no one in our party tried that option. We were then walking over to the cold dish bar that was full of charcuterie meat, cheese, we had salads galore, kale salad, pasta salads, veggie salads, lettuce salads. There were peppers, so many delicous fruits, asparagus, broccoli, cauliflower, beets and so many more delicous items. Nuts, seeds, quinoa, couscous salad. Once we sat down after filling our plates we flipped our card for the meats. Each item that deliciously arrived with our Gaucha were outstanding, different cook types available, juicy and so flavorful. We ordered cocktails that were incredibly unique and delicious.
Our only feedback is to work out the 3 side options a little differently. You are already given so many delicious option that this is one area for that felt a little less cared for. We selected the following options: polenta, fries and brulee corn. We also enjoyed three of the desserts, the Chocolate truffles, The cheesecake and the lava cake.
Again, we can not say enough good about the service. Every staff member was so kind and sweet. The overall experience was 5 stars by far!
If you have not had the chance you definitely need to go give this establishment a try. I believe you will not be disappointed.
The food was outstanding, this is a must visit place, definitely 5 stars, I would give 10 stars if that was an option, but the highlight for us was our server Angelica B., which speaks volumes, because the food is also top notch. From the moment that we sat down, Angelica was absolutely amazing. She took an interest in us and our two young children, which is unfortunately not very common anymore and is such a lovely addition to the dining experience. Angelica explained the menu to us and how the wonderful churrasco process works, which was extremely informative for my mother and two children that had never experienced this type of dining previously. She was consistently checking on us to see if we needed anything, topping our drinks off, clearing plates off of the table, bringing new plates for us and interacting with us and our children throughout the entire meal. We loved everything that we tasted, two of my absolute favorites was the baked cheese with warm guava sauce and the steak picada. The meats were all cooked to perfection and the smorgasbord of sides provides a vast selection for all tastes and desires. It would impossible to leave here hungry. The menu prices are completely fair and reasonable for what you receive in return and all of the employees that we interacted with were very polite, professional and accommodating. My 7 year old son told Angelica that we were going to Legoland and that he was very excited. At the end of the meal we had the most heart warming surprise, Angelica had a special dessert made for us that had a special design just for our kids!! They were so excited and amazed, as were we. Employees are a key component of what make a company either succeed or fail and Angelica is the perfect example of how to treat customers if you want them to become regulars. We will definitely come back to Adega Guacha and will recommend a visit to everyone that we know. Thank you so much Angelica, you are truly the best! And a huge thank you to the rest of the staff that took part in our dining experience at Adega Guacha. Can't wait to...
