This restaurant has a high rating and unfortunately our group did not receive the same great experience majority of the reviewers had. The atmosphere was beautiful and the restaurant was cleanly. However, the customer service was not pleasant. The waiter, Bobby, seemed to be nice but very incompetent when it came to providing good customer service. I ordered pho with round eye beef. I specifically told the waiter, I do not want onions. He said the onions come on the side. I said okay that’s fine as long as it’s not in my pho.
I received my pho and I clearly saw there were onions in the broth. We told the waiter and he said he is sorry and will tell the kitchen. He comes back like 3 minutes later and gives me “another” bowl of pho. He brought back the same pho with onions. Not only is this unethical, it could pose a health risk for customers who have allergies. I took a few onions out of the broth and told him it clearly still has onions. While my entire party was eating, I had to wait yet again for my food. By the time I received the correct order, everyone in my group was finishing up their food. I couldn’t enjoy the meal with everyone at my table. It is especially disappointing considering it was the only thing I ordered. The pho was very oily and the meat was overcooked. I have tried pho from different restaurants and this was my least favorite. It gave me a bad stomach ache when I reached home.
In addition, my friend ordered a few things, one of them being shaken beef bao. My friend waited patiently and had to remind the waiter of that order. Those sandwiches should not take that long to make so there is a possibility the original order was not notated on the waiter’s end in the beginning when my friend ordered it.
To summarize, we gave this place a try and it did not exceed or come remotely close to our expectations. Regardless if it was an off night, the waiter and kitchen staff should do better at making sure orders are correct before placing them on the table. They should not send the same incorrect order back to the customer. Also, I think the waiter needs a vacation or some sleep because his mind was somewhere else. I’m hoping those of you reading this review that decide to give it a try as well receive a better experience...
Read moreWe saw a post on facebook anout this place and i read nothing but good reviews! So today, we gave it a try. Atmosphere was really nice and we’re excited to try their food. We ordered calamari as our appetizer, it was okay. We loved the drink that we ordered which was the peach flavor. My husband ordered the short rib pho, and it was the hardest meat we’ve ever hard. He was complaining about it so i gave it a try since he cant cut it with a knife so i decided to just bite it! I can’t even get any meat from it! It was so tough to the point that it was not edible and we thought it was under cooked. I ordered the one with rice which i will upload the photo. The flavor was good, but i can’t even swallow it. I ended up spitting every meat that i tried eating cuz we were starving! The food we ordered was barely touched except for the calamari and the egg that i finished. My husband called the server and told him about it. I even asked him to try cutting the meat and see for himself and yes, it’s really tough that he couldn’t even cut it! He talked to the manager and maybe told him to give us a 20% discount on the food that we barely ate. We were expecting that the manager will come to our table and ask but he didnt even bother to talk to us, not evena shadow. Our server was very nice and he was apologetic but we were just so disappointed with our dining experience. I gave 2 stars for the ony only for the flavor! Even though our server was nice but i only gave 2 stars because the service includes the whole dining experience including the food. Def not...
Read moreSPRING ROLLS Great presentation and ingredients. Would have liked for $10 they be thicker though. I don't recall mine including mint either, which if not, I suggest they do.
PHO. Very nice broth with very balanced flavors. Nothing was signature tasting about it though, which I might suggest they attempt to try creating a more memorable signature taste to the broth by not having it so balanced... maybe more cinnamon?. But it was still very good. They use linguine style noodles which is not my preference, and i could have used an extra few slices of meat. The price of the bowl was $17 which is on the higher side, but the atmosphere and service are very good here. The place is beautifully lit and decorated second to none. Washrooms extremely clean and appointed. Plenty of parking too.
After $5 tip my meal came to $34 which again, is on the higher side in my opinion for a bowl of soup and freah rolls as ive had similar for $10 less. I'd have to try more pho in the area before I could say whether their Pho is fairly priced or not and/or worth recommending to those frequenting for PHO.
But I can say if you are going here the Pho will not be disappointing at all... it just won't blow you...
