southern technical college florida mall campus ,the staff,i i had to choose a single word awesome does'nt do them any justice i being a single parent and working a job that had my mind all over the place and my life had no direction i was filling out an on line line application for subway subs and it sent me to this college and i had to go through the school questionaire just to do the job application which lead me to talk and meet ms oma persaud from day one i can say that ms oma was the shovel that broke ground to the building of a new me she saw something in me that i couldnt see for myself she gave me a direction she lead this horse to the water and i am forever greatful because now i the new building the new me i can say look out world HERE I AM! that lead me to mr martin and dr langford MR.Martin one of the wisest of the staff his guidance and understanding was a key part to me being successful at the most trying times that i had he didnt allow me to overwelm my self while keeping me on track it makes a diffence when a person has the power to say your problem isnt mine yet they dont they listen and they help to find a solution thats the wisdom of MR MARTIN lol DR LANGFORD i must quote jimmy johnson the ex dallas cowboys coach,"treat a man as great as he is and he will remain but treat him as he could be and he would become what he should be" this quote defines the experience that is DR LANGFORD she's like MOM good or bad shes there to support you she gives you drive and motivation and like a mom shes all ways watching and observing you to keep you on the right track thanks DR LANGFORD aka mom shatima jessica and aisha SHATIMA aka SPARXXXX her energy and glow her ambition she gives you a spark its her personality and energy that allows her light to break through the darkest of days many days her light pierced through and made me and others be able to forget our troubles even if it just for a time and allows you to be able to focus again to accomplish what ever task that is a head shatima always has the right words to brighten your day thanks shatima JESSICA aka big sis to many times ive had good news to share with jess and before i could finish i find that she already knows jess always finds the time to lend her help with what ever she is never to busy that she cant help you or point you in the right direction in cases that she cant she always knows what to do thanks big sis AISHA aka smiles aisha has an infectious smile you could be just asking for a particular room or person and her smile will have you smiling from ear to ear and shes always willing to help (just dont ask for coffee before coffee time)she is the first person that you see and her personality at her position set the tone for you to meet and greet all of the other great personalities that makes stc STC maria in fianancial aid lydia sharon and darilyn also great at just being people, people THE TEACHERS /INSTRUCTORS demetrio balauger mr allen mr busby and the sweet but tough ms jenny these people are people that ill never forget i couldnt wouldnt be a finished product if not for these people they have forever touched my mind and will always be buried in my heart i can now support my son better because of them and i am forever greatful these people have become my family and this school my home i was once lost thanks to stc i am found i am whole i am complete now I...

Southern Technical College (Orlando Campus) Is disorganized and all-around money hungry. Never will I ever recommend anyone to attend this school! They prey on low-income individuals and trick you into thinking you are making the best decision for your future. When in actuality, you end up being in major debt and nothing to show for all the time you put into receiving this expensive education. Their accreditation is flawed and goes through unfair hoop holes. Valencia doesn’t even accept credits from them! My issue with this business is that they are all over the place and have different departments that tell you different things. Because of their uncoordinated administration, I couldn’t even attend graduation. I had to miss out on my big day because the person that ran the career service department had forgotten to put in the order for my cap and gown. I’ve spent 2 hard-working years trying to obtain my associate's degree in Medical Assisting. And I say “trying” because I have completed my two years and passed but they refuse to give me my diploma and hold it hostage because I’m supposedly not current on my out of house loan payment. After I shelled out a lot of money to stay current. I then received my transcripts with no problem and the registrar department ordered my diploma with no problem and said I can pick it up once it arrived. When I called to see if my diploma has arrived, they said it has but they can’t give it to me because for some odd reason, once again, I’m not current on my payment. I was then transferred to the registrar department to get clarification since my previous conversation with them stated otherwise. In the transfer, I was sent to voicemail and I left a message regarding the issue. Still, I have not received a return call. This school is a scam, the administration is full of lies, and is not helpful to the students! Please steer clear of this organization and go to Valencia or any other REAL accredited school!

*an update! I filed a complaint against them with the Better Business Bureau and told them exactly what I wrote in the above statement. Now all of a sudden, someone from registrar called me today and inform me that I can actually pick up my diploma! What a surprise! Can't believe they tried to pull a fast one on me and have me pay something I didn't...

A year ago I left a review about this school and gave it a 5 star rating but due to recent events I have decided to change that rating to a 4 star. I have taken the welding program and I will finish the hvac program at the end of June. I have met some amazing instructors who truly care about the students. I wish I could say the same about the other employees. David Martin was the head man up here but now he's gone and it's very noticeable. Jessica Sierra was the one in charge of Career Services and now she's gone. I saw her last week and I come back this week and she is gone. Bad move on their part if you ask me. It seems that all the instructors and employees that I have met and became friends with during my 28 months here at this school are all gone now except for a few. I still stand by my motto that you get out what you put in. If you want to learn then these instructors will teach you exactly what you need to know in order to make it out in the field. They are all very knowledgeable in their field of study and I appreciate each and every one of them for taking the time to teach and train us for the future. But as far as the ones who are running this school, I dont like it. They are trying to fix things that aren't broken and it's the students that have to suffer from the decisions you are making. Mr, Slik, Mr. Hightower, Mr. Balaguer, Mr. Arias, Mr. Sandy Bishop, Mr. Lewis Phillips "no longer with us" and last but definitely not least Ms. Jessica Sierra. Those individuals have helped me throughout my time here at Southern Tech and 2 of them are now gone. This is not just a review of the school but also a rant about the sorry decisions made by the ones in charge of this school. It is a good school and you will learn what you need in order to make it in the field but just don't get too attached to the employees here, because before you know it they will be replaced,...
