Phenomenal spot.
One of the greater burgers in Florida, and around the country for sure while we’re at it. It hits that sweet spot of being extremely good, not too pricey, quick, and great atmosphere.
There were a couple things we’d do differently if we went back, as we spent about $10-15 total too much. More of a learning curve, nothing against the establishment.
We ordered 4 sauces ($4 extra), and really didn’t need any of them. Their burgers and fries are their specialty and it shows, and that’s great! I didn’t really love or hate the 1000 island, or the ranch, and we both got one of each and didn’t even use them. They are a good size too, so sharing is easy. The 1000 island is more smooth/sweet, and I prefer the more tangy sweet with pickle chunks inside. If you prefer their style, you’ll love it.
The cashier accidentally ordered us an extra regular fry (~$3), and we were too tired and had a 4 hour road trip to go back and fix that issue.
And we both ordered doubles, and being used to the really small style patty’s, these were actually pretty great size! We could have gone with the single, which is amazing as many places a single will leave you still starving. So props to them on great size burger. If you’re starving and don’t have a 4 hour road trip, it would be fine.
The shake was good, although they didn’t understand how to make a chunky style Oreo, I’m not sure why that is hard, all you have to do is not blend the Oreos until the very end, and just pulse it a couple times, but the main thing is the main thing here — the burger and fries which were both incredible. The sweet potato fries were great too, but the regular were just wow! They were hot the whole time, and just the best crispiness and seasoning.
And last thing I almost forgot, the cheddar cheese was amazing! Often times I get cheese and feel like I can barely taste it for some reason. Not here, they used a generous amount, and the cheddar flavor really shined through!
We will 100% be back the next time in area, and happy to have found the place before our road trip. After a long day at universal it hit the...
Read moreWe so much wanted to like this restaurant…especially for their burgers. We actually chose this place based on the reviews, plus it was rated No. 2 Burger place in Orlando in a publisher Secret Orlando. Unfortunately, we failed to experience these amazing burgers/food. I am not sure if they were having a bad day in the kitchen or not, but both burgers were tasteless and dry.
Don’t get me wrong, the presentation was definitely there! …having you wanting to dive right in! We ordered the Mac&Cheese Burger with classic fries, along with the Black Jack Burger with tater tots. It was so bad, the cheese was actually separating from the noodles on the Mac&Chz Burger. The tater tots were well seasoned, yet over cooked…and all I experienced was the crunch from the outer shells; hallow!! :( The buns were not toasted…not sure if it’s their thing or not? Both burgers definitely did not taste as well as they were presented. …not even salt & pepper.
The young lady that took our order was very nice and engaging. Our order arrived really fast, and the food was served hot. My only complaint in reference to the dining experience would be the live musician. I totally understand that this is a Burger Bar. We honestly could not have a conversation during our dinner until he took a break to get a drink at the bar! Thank God!! The music was extremely loud. Also, if you are going to play music…play music from a wide range of genres, so everyone is able to enjoy the “loud music”. I would have liked it even more if we didn’t have to put in our noise canceling ear buds just to get through the bad meal.
I see that there are other locations in central Florida…maybe it’s just this one that’s bad, located on International Drive. My apologies if I offended anyone’s favorite restaurant. This was not my intention. This is just my personal perspective from my personal experience with this particular restaurant. I hope you have a...
Read moreMy wife and I tried Beth’s Burger Bar while staying at a nearby condo for a conference. We checked out the menu online, and were really impressed with the large variety of toppings. My wife had the veggie burger with sweet potato fries and I had the morning burger with pepper jack instead of cheddar. Looking at the menu had my taste buds going.
While waiting for my order, I noticed that I had been overcharged...which apparently was due to “pepper mustard” versus regular mustard. Slightly annoying, but not a deal breaker. The cashier seemed indifferent when I told her about the error.
My to go order was made quickly, and I was on my way. Once I got back to the condo, the disappointment began. The fried pickles didn’t even fill the 12 ounce cup, and appeared to have been thawed and re-frozen prior to frying. 3 or 4 were attached in each clump, which meant that the middle of each clump was not cooked. My wife stated the sweet potato fries were tasteless, and despite the cinnamon sugar topping, she didn’t finish them. The portion size of the sweet potato fries was also lacking.
The burgers were...well...interesting to say the least. My burger wasn’t even wrapped properly, and had literally been thrown in the bag sideways. More toppings were on the paper and the bottom of the bag than were on the burger. My wife said that her burger was “OK”, but nothing better than you would find elsewhere. My burger was tasty, and that’s the only reason for 2 stars rather than 1, but the meal was definitely not worth $29.
For a restaurant that prides itself on being better than Five Guys, they could certainly learn a few...
