Me and my wife and my parents had eaten there on Thanksgiving, 2024 none of us ate from the salad bar. The Thanksgiving food was horrible from the watered down turkey To the greasy chicken, the tasteless, green beans and the nasty stuffing! Then I get our ticket to pay for the food and I was in shock for four people to eat. I paid $95 for a buffet and my parents can put down the food and neither one of them ate enough that night. Neither did me or my wife. I had one plate of food and only ate half of it. My wife ate a quarter of her plate and my parents had about half a plate each I talked to the manager who told me to call Corporate. I did that only to be told I should’ve came back on Black Friday to talk to a general manager yeah I’m gonna get out and all that traffic and all the chaos going on to speak to a general manager beside the point I wasn’t told to do that! They flat out, refused to give us a refund or comp us a meal! I have spoke with a woman named Nicole from the management office in Knoxville who told me they made $18,000 on Thanksgiving yet they don’t wanna give us a refund! Well Let’s see what the BBB has to say about it! we will never return back to this place and we was eating there every week. I think they take advantage of people since Ryan’s is no longer there and there is no other buffets around except the Chinese buffet, but who wants to eat Chinese food all the time. Restaurants like this needs to be held accountable for their actions. Oh, and by the way, my mom got sick from the food and that’s enough to make anybody mad! Don’t just avoid this Shoney’s avoid all Shoney’s at all cost! $18 for a buffet is stupidly priced I was charged $95 for 4 people to eat my parents didn’t even get a senior discount! You can go to Golden corral and get steak on their buffet, even if it is in Sevierville that’s where we’ll be going...
Read more06/02/17 UPDATE: Decided to give this location another try. This time I specifically asked for a booth. GOOD MOVE. All the booths are located in what was the "overflow"/"meeting room," convenient to the buffet and quiet enough for conversation or reading print/electronic media. Service in this area was very good. I am upgrading my star count from 1 to 4: the Clinton locations outshines them all.
INITIAL REVIEW: My first visit after the remodel. And may be my last. If you like eating in a school lunchroom, you will enjoy this shoney's. Having a quiet conversation will require extra effort. Almost all tables and FEW booths. And NO SERVICE. I am shown to a table opposite the main door to the kitchen. I sit there for several minutes watching table servers stand in the kitchen entrance and look in my direction and appear to be discussing me. After 5 minutes one comes over and takes my order (sr.buffet & sweet tea). I go to the buffet and return to no tea. I'm half-way through soup when a hostess comes by and ask how I'm doing. I tell her I've been waiting 10 minutes for tea. She goes and gets it. Then my original table server comes by all nice and ignorant. During my entire meal I am never offered a tea refill (even though the original server passed by several times with a pitcher). The manager did comp my dinner after complaining. Next time I'm back to Clinton or Harriman or Knoxville. These offer quiet and very friendly dining for...
