Ditka's Oakbrook — Restaurant in Oakbrook Terrace

Unfortunately, Mike closed the wrong location. He should have closed the Oakbrook Terrace location instead. This location has steadily gone down since the previous manager Steve left. What a great guy he was. The current manager doesn't know the level of service or people in the area and probably came from a Taco Bell store! A recent visit revealed the portions are getting smaller but the manager's attitude is getting bigger. Let me explain...I ordered my usual Berkshire pork chop and asked for more than 3 fork fulls of mashed potatoes. Our server pointed out defensively "this is what the chef mandates". Seriously! Who runs the restaurant? When our order came, the pork chop looked like it was cut in half, but the bone size was much larger. No apple sauce even! Asking for bread is a $4.00 charge! A baked potato is a $3.00 up charge. At what level does customer service kick in? The bus staff is nicer and more on the ball than the serving staff. I felt like I should have tipped them instead. There's no sweet potatoes available, even for an up charge. When the manager brought over a late burger we ordered, I commented how things seem to be changing. Instead of taking an interest in what my concerns were, he scampered away. The server never asked how anything was and could barely walk 20 feet to fill our ice teas. I guess you get better service when you order alcohol drinks to jack up the tip. The food was good but the service diminishes the experience let alone the holiday spirit- and this was on a slow Sunday! I get covid has taken its toll, but at some point that "reason" has worn itself out and becomes a meaningless excuse. When the server came around to ask for our desert order, I politely declined. I didn't want to put her to go out if her way and take our order the way we wanted it. Someone seemed to forget, we were paying for service based on our selection, not her restrictions. I kindly declined and said we were going to Gibsons Restaurant where they actually know what customer service is and have fabulous deserts that are more than 3 fork fulls!!! And no up charge for what should be included in the first place. Stay clear of Ditka's, go to Gibson's where your satisfaction is there priority, not...

Sara at the bar is the best by far!

She is cute as hell in her Ditka’s Uniform! My wife and I have a granddaughter about her age.

She was neat, patient, and naturally personable! We had happy hour/Dinner at the bar. Sara made sure that we were comfortable! She even served us a glass of water that looked like a five star cocktail? WATER????

Her Spirit was pleasantly overwhelming! Our food was split in half in the kitchen without anyone asking! The after dinner coffee and Chef Special Cheesecake was to die for! I eat Cheesecake all the time! I never knew it could taste like that.

We shared a Shrimp Cocktail that my late grandmother could not have made better. The care and love that went into that dish was impeccable!

The food flow was amazing! Lady Sara was the Conductor of this Masterpiece! Believe it or not we are regulars at Ditka’s and have been going there since their grand opening!

Our Company was a tenant in this building before Ditka moved in! Our Main Happy Course Meal, although split in the Kitchen was so humongous that it should have been split again at the table!

“Sara at the Bar” made our Legacy Ditka’s Experience a brand new experience! We do Oak Brook Happy Hour each and every Friday! We have given them all an equal opportunity to impress this highly critical retired Corporate Executive and Host for dinner on an unlimited expense account!

I have entertained snobbish wealthy corporate clients and executives and paid far more for a hell of a lot less!
