Delicious La Michoacana — Restaurant in Oakland Park

My son ate there about 2 weeks ago he said the ice cream was amazing. He had the churros with cookies and cream I decided to give him a treat this evening. When I got there one lady was helping a gentleman and another lady with their order and the guy who works back there was making someone else's order so I was waiting for my time. While I'm waiting a man and his wife walks in. The lady went to the back to finish making the order for the people she was assisting at the table once the gentleman finished making the order for the people he was helping he proceeded to help the man and woman that came in after me. so I said to him I was here first how are you going to assist them before me ?! He started to speak Spanish like he didnt understand English.so I said I don't have to spend my money here I can go elsewhere . So when I got outside it hit me, I'll call and talk to the manager. The same gentleman answered the phone, and when I asked for the manager he said he's not here I said when will he be there he says I don't know so I replied don't worry I'll try back everyday this week until I get him just because the Spanish you chose to serve them first and that's not fair to me so I'm going to let your manager know. He said okay no problem and hung up. Same person that couldn't speak English when I was standing...

I don’t leave reviews often but this place definitely deserves praise. I usually have ice cream a couple times per month and was tired so just decided to look for something local, knowing I’d likely be disappointed. Luckily, that didn’t happen. Saw this place with an interesting name I had no idea how to pronounce but with all five star reviews. Had the best Ferrero Rocher ice cream I’ve ever had! I tried a sample of some other flavor as insisted upon, I think it had tequila flavor or something, and I don’t drink, nor like tequila, but it was delicious! The ice cream was at the perfect temperature and consistency, no freezer burn at all, but not overly soft that it’s difficult to eat in a cone. Extremely reasonably priced too considering all these “craft” ice cream places opening up charging ~50% more and this place is on par or better than them, better in most cases to be honest. Tons of interesting Mexican snacks, prepackaged as well as freshly made, both sweet and savory. The guy working there was very helpful, especially considering I don’t speak Spanish and was very curious as to what the different items were. Tried to call in for carry out and ask some questions (since the online menu is not very descriptive). The person who answers the phone doesn’t speak English which is ridiculous. Why even answer the phone if you can not communicate?

My husband went in to order the carry out and waited 25 minutes. 👎

The main thing I wanted was churros which they were completely out of somehow. Had a “sundae” instead which consisted of chocolate ice cream with icicles in it, topped with whipped cream. No sauce. 👎

Ordered a few tacos which were just okay but didn’t have the best flavor. Also, they promote a taco Tuesday special online (buy 2 get 1 free taco) which apparently...
