Blue Bottle Coffee — Restaurant in Oakland

I've been a Blue Bottle Coffee customer for over 15 years and I will never give them another dime after my two experiences with their online subscription. During the fist month, I was double shipped and double billed. I emailed customer service and was told I placed two orders and a refund couldn't be issued. This was false. In the second month my shipment was shipped twelve days after the date I selected (this defeats the purpose of a monthly coffee subscription). Again, I emailed customer service and was told the order was late due to "unprecedented holiday order volume". Again, the same comment - this defeats the actual purpose of a subscription. The customer service agent offered no solution and said the order would ship as soon as possible. He even refused to cancel the order. Blue Bottle - you should stick to slinging coffee at brick and mortar stores. You're not cut out...

I've been coming here nearly every workday for the last few weeks. The staff are all very friendly and inviting. I usually get tea, as opposed to coffee, but their tea is really favorful - something that always gets me going in the morning. The space is very open, with plenty of seating for the volume of customers they routinely have, most of which buy to go. I've only used their bathrooms twice, but each time the space was surprisingly clean, considering there are no locks on the doors (big difference compared to places like Starbucks which require keys or combinations to access their bathrooms).

When I lived around the area I would come here as often as I could. I have yet to find another coffee place that makes an oat milk Cortado that good. It is unbelievably delicious. Their coffee stands out for sure. I love everything about it. Their serving glasses bring the experience to another level as well. The staff is always friendly and always strives to deliver the best coffee possible. If you come in the morning expect to wait a little, but it is worth it.
