Had a great experience trying out this pizza spot!
Facilities here are clean and well kept. In addition to indoor seating, there are outdoor tables and seating on either side of the entrance, as well as an enclosed back patio area with wooden picnic tables and outdoor heaters.
Service was excellent. Carlisle was up front and took our order. He was helpful when we had questions about some of the menu items, and also in recommending the Ellen Supreme when we were considering a second pizza option.
After placing our order, Carlisle also ensured we were aware of our seating options and helped us find the back patio area and get the outdoor hearer near are table turned on because it was a little chilly. He brought our order to us and checked several times, perfectly, to refill our water, take away empty dishes, and provide us with the bill and to go containers. Thankful for such great service that was well timed and not intrusive!
Food: it’s great! Had the Spicy Pepperoni pizza and had the perfect amount of spice and the sauce and everything was so tasty. Although it is a thick crust pizza, it is crisp and light, not at all heavy. That was a pleasant surprise and should please about any pizza lover—even those who typically favor a thin crust pizza. The Ellen Supreme was also very good and tasty, but a distant second to the Spicy Pepperoni.
Dessert: square cookie. This was good, but a mix up had it come out when it wasn’t fresh from the oven. Very tasty, but would’ve been better fresher from the oven and if it wasn’t offered with some ice cream on top of it. So that ended our meal with slight disappointment.
So glad to have discovered this gem of a place. Sad that there isn’t a branch of this close to home in Southern California because it would do well, but I guess it being far from home gives more incentive for traveling up to the Bay Area—and keeps me eating too much...
Read moreLet’s start off with no greeting, when my coworker and I first enter the restaurant. The cashier was not helpful, just pointed to the clip board and didn’t say much. Once my transaction was done he did not hand over my receipt until my coworker was almost done ordering. I tried to eat outside but tables were really dirty, but it wasn’t much cleaner inside . The restaurant wasn’t busy, had 2 other people waiting. Cashier comes out with 2 trays of pizza, hands it over to my coworker who ordered/paid after me. The other order was given to the other customers. Then returns to our table and tells me your pizza will be right out, 5 minutes or more pass by. That’s when I decide to get up and ask the cashier for my 20% tip back, for poor customer experience. I noticed the owner was sitting at the bar, so I focused my attention towards him and try to address the problem. He decides to try to flip it on me, by saying I have an attitude problem/ inpatient. He was only making it worse, instead of defusing the situation. That’s when I decided to get my full refund back. Thanks for the free soda, Cheers! I would never recommend nor return...
Read moreIt was a very good pizza, very small, 6" x 8" (by my measurements), but very good, with pepperoni, mushrooms and "Italian sausage". I put that sausage in quotes because it's not American type Italian sausage. It's more like pan fried salumi, or thick bacon pieces. (I KNOW, it's a chopped up sausage link, but is dry and overcooked in comparison to what you'd want.) Not that I didn't like it, but it wasn't what I expected.
Now, what I didn't like....I still wish the sausage was what I expected. You're limited to 2 meats and 2 vegetables and worse, you can't get a larger size. The price is acceptable for what you get, but they try to get you to give a 30% tip to the driver (a trick a lot of places use), which is ridiculous. As it was, I gave my usual $5 for pizza delivery, which was 19% of the food cost. Then they give you a code for free delivery, but slip in a 10% service fee, presumably from DoorDash, AFTER you pay. There should be a law! I know that is what people are tolerating, but not me. The negatives lost you two stars.
The photo shows a standard mandeliene cookie, so you can see how...
