Lynn & Lu's Escapade Cafe — Restaurant in Oakland

Ordered through GrubHub: My delivery person was the best part of this order. I was late coming down to get the food and I told him it was okay to leave it at the front door, but he waited for several minutes because he didn’t want anyone to take my food before I got there. He was so kind so I had to give him an extra tip! Many thanks to him. I ordered the french toast with blueberry sauce for an extra dollar, knowing full well that the restaurant would “forget” to include it. I knew they would steal from me because it’s easy and why not? Why have integrity as a business when you can steal from your customers and they can go through the steps to get a refund? I added the sauce mostly as a test to see how honest this business was and they failed miserably. There was a ton of french toast which was delicious, great eggs and a TON of bacon. My 3.5 star rating is because I think that the staff could stand to look less irritated. I usually like to rate a 5. When I walked in, they didn't even look up or say hello to me. The only person that spoke to me was my actual server, Irene. Server: I can honestly say that Irene was very kind. She seemed genuinely happy to be at work, and made sure my food was cooked right. Food: Delicious fresh fruit smoothie, waffle was cooked to my version of perfection, potatoes though a bit burnt, were still overall tasty with the extra seasoning added by my server. Overall: I think this is a good option, but I'm still a die hard Brown Sugar Kitchen fan(they were closed today), so I may be biased. I am honestly willing to amend this review, but they have got to get these servers to be more friendly and customer oriented when customers walk into the restaurant. This is one of my fav's to order breakfast in bed!! This is my second time ordering breakfast. I ordered the eggs benedict, bacon and over easy eggs with a side of sausage. Potatoes are included in each meal.

Everything has been great both times. I'm a big eggs benedict fan so getting it delivered is risky! I wasn't disappointed. My hollandaise sauce was on the side so nothing was soggy. My English muffin was still warm and slightly crispy on the sides. The bacon was cooked to perfection and the whole wheat toast cut into small triangles. Reminds me of how my Grandmother used to make my toast! The potatoes are never over cooked and they come with a small side of sour cream!

I will continue to order breakfast but try something different next time! I will keep you updated on...
