Starbucks — Restaurant in Oakland

Not all the workers here have chips on their shoulders, a few are exceedingly knowledgeable and helpful going so far as to suggest replacements for items out of stock and fixing the wrong orders taken by more incompetent staff even going as far as paying for extra associated with order substitution out of pocket. That said; the racism toward white male undertones by some of the staff is palatable. This isn't a complaint, or "thou shalt behave as:" screed, it's a reminder that not all whites are racist, as are not most humans period, but the ones that have a deep seated resentment toward ANY race should examine that, address it from the standpoint of respect and, as hard as it is, taking the knowlwdge of how being victim to and by racsists(racism) feels and using that to curtail owns own projection onto non deserving others.. cause we all will be blind eventually (sooner than quick at this rate) if eye for an eye is the rule. There are so many Starbucks in our country that it's not even worth rating the coffee shop by the products that they offer. This review is purely on the staff. The staff here is pretty amazing. We live in a pretty diverse community here and they do a very good job of taking care of everyone. The staff here is very friendly and efficient. They do a great job working with what they have. Recently they have closed the restrooms at this location. I assume it's probably because of the homeless population. They're pretty close to a school so around 3 through 3 lines sometimes get pretty long especially when it's hot because their orders are usually families and groups of kids. So that means that they're making a lot of frappuccinos which takes a little bit longer. Also this location is directly next to a major freeway entrance so there's a lot of people who stop in before work and even on Saturdays and Sundays the mornings can sometimes get pretty crowded there. I just have A very unpleasant experience with winter at this location. I have a few bucks left on a gift card and I could use them for gas so I came into the store with the expectation of leaving with gas money.. .she told me straight up that she was not gonna cash my gift card out.. she went on to state that she didn't care that California law states that anything under $10 can be cashed out.. she told me to get out of the store because she didn't care . I just can't believe somebody can be so closed minded. She refuse to hear what I had to say. She went on to say that I was lying because she has been here for 4 years and that's never happened.. its a shame that she hasn't been taught the proper way to deal with this . Something so simple but somebody dropped the ball and now you have Starbucks supervisors looking like fools . So frustrated with this . How can I get her to understand when she isn't open to complying...
