I was back and forth with posting but after rethinking it and still feeling upset over the horrible service I have decided to post.

On September 19, 2021 was by far the worst restaurant experience that I think I have probably ever experienced anywhere. Myself, my husband and three friends was ending our Ocean city  bike week and decided to go to Pit & pub 28th street for a few drinks and dinner and enjoy the Ravens game. Upon arriving the hostess (older lady) advised us that there was no seats and we should probably check out coins which was one block away and also advised that Dry Dock 28 was closed for food for the night, this probably should have been the first sign that they was pushing us away. We decided to stay and wait. Plus side within a few minutes a seat opened and myself, my husband and one of the friends was seated. The other 2 friends went back to our room to use the bathroom. At 8:09 pm the 3 of us placed our order for 2 appetizers and 3 meals. We then asked to move seats to a high top to see the game, since a high top opened they allowed us to move. We moved seats and our appetizers was brought out. Our other 2 friends made it back and placed their order for food, well within a reasonable time the 2 friends that ordered last received their food and finished their meal. Each time we asked our waitress she continued to tell us that the food would be out shortly. One hour after ordering I questioned the waitress and asked if there was a manager on duty, she was rude and responded no and walked away. I waited another few minutes and asked a young lady cleaner a Table for a manager. She then got the lady that was the hostess. She advised me she would check on our food. From this point forward was by far the worst. She was very rude and cussing telling me I was not there at 8:09 or 8:20 pm. Told our friends that came later that she sat them which in fact she did not. They called us and we told them where we was sitting and they seated themselves. Swore that I ordered at 8:46 pm which in fact was when the last two people ordered and had already ate. On top of all this, 2 of the men used the bathroom and someone that worked there was using and put their apron on the floor and was in their well over 15 mins. Back to the waitress and hostess, very argumentative and only worried about money and not the fact that we never received our dinner. The older lady (hostess) went to all her locals and was talking trashed, cussing and acting like she was punching and mad. Pretty disappointed in the over all service we received. Deff. Will not go back which is sad because we was all deff. Looking forward to dinner there. It is sad that through out the week/ weekend we went to multiple different bars and restaurants which was short staffed and still provided 100 x better service.  The short staff was not the issue here and they deff. Messed up and could not admit they was in the wrong. Poor staff will never help this...

This had to be possibly be one of the worst experiences at a restaurant I have had.

1st - told we would have a 30 minute wait, then waited close to 1.5hrs

2nd - was told the kitchen staff could not handle the volume even though there were a handful of empty booths

3rd - a large amount of people who were also waiting were sat outside. Then 30 minutes or so after, the manager makes everyone move because the OWNERS FAMILY is coming and wants to sit there. ON A SATURDAY, DURING OC AIR SHOW WHICH HAD EVERYWHERE PACKED.

4th - we were waiting inside and sitting at one of the empty booths with our grandma. We were told noone was allowed to sit there so our grandma had to get up and stand to wait. Then that same manager sat someone there so they could be comfortable while they waited

5th - the manager, after kicking us out of the booth we were waiting at (once again one that wasn't being used) asked us if we wanted to sit in an unused booth while we waited!

6th - while we waited, we asked the manager if we could simply get some chips to snack on while we waited because we were starving at this point and was told no because it would back up the kitchen. Restaurant was perfectly fine servicing all the alcohol requests but not with the food. That is a bit dangerous in my opinion.

7th - the long awaited food was not even close to being worth the wait. How can you have brisket with no smoke flavor? I'm just a regular guy but my 18hr brisket would put anything on their menu to shame

Long story short, we will never return to this establishment. We spend a week every year literally 2 blocks from here and will choose to walk past for better options from here out. Any business owner who doesn't have the understanding to go in and help out their staff is destin to fail. The same business owner who instead will send their family in to take over 15% of the dining availability over waiting customers is absurd. Oh and did I mention once these family members arrived, it took absolutely no time to get there food? This seems to be an owner who likes to flaunt their access to control their business rather than one who is concerned with what's best for...

First time I came in and ate at 28th street pit and pub, it was amazing! Had to ask for extra bbq sauce for the ribs because they don’t barely put any on them. Not a problem at all that day!

Ever since then, me and my family ordered from there for atleast 5 more times. I don’t recommend picking up their ribs because they get all weird if you ask for extra bbq sauce. Like I said previously, they barely put any bbq sauce on their ribs. So I always ask them for extra sauce and they never do it. I even asked in person to add EXTRA BBQ sauce and the guy said “there’s already bbq on them.” I took the ribs home and as usual, barely any sauce at all. I honestly don’t understand why it’s such a problem to add extra bbq sauce? Their sauce is actually amazing and one of my favorite bbq sauces I’ve tried! I’ll be honest and give them that! But why is it so hard to get extra sauce? Besides eating there in person, I only got extra bbq sauce 1 time out of every time I ordered from there.

Now this is the reason why I’m writing this review. Today me and my family picked up food from the Northside location for the first time. I ordered a whole rack of ribs. What I got was a half rack at most. 4 pieces of ribs and only 4 bones. And as usual, barely any bbq sauce. I didn’t manage to take a picture because I didn’t have my phone on me. I wish I did.

My father who got the food went back inside with the container and asked one of the employees “Is this a whole rack of ribs?” And the employee told him yes it was a whole rack.

I went to many many rib fests and I know what a whole rack of ribs look like and what a half rack looks like. What I got today was neither of em. There’s usually 6 bones in a half rack of ribs. At pit and pub, a whole rack of ribs is only 4 bones. I wonder what a half rack looks like. 2 pieces of ribs? Lol.

We will never order pit and pub again and it’s such a shame because I really enjoyed their food, but $30 for 4 pieces of ribs with no sauce is insane. Definitely not worth the money. My family and I were left very...

This was our first time here & the food was amazing!!! I got a chicken cheese steak & a side of mac & cheese. The chicken cheese steak is breast meat that is shredded & it was some of the best mac & cheese I've had at a restaurant before. I also had a Zombie to drink & it was really good!!! My bf got the brisket sandwich that he said was really good. There's bottles of BBQ sauce on the tables for you to add however much you want on your food. I added it to the chicken cheese steak & it made it so much more delicious!!! The staff was really friendly & the service was great!!! The restaurant itself is really nice looking & clean. They have tons of album covers all over the ceilings, which we both enjoyed looking at all of them. They have a decent sized menu & the prices are decent too. The only complaint we had was the band was setting up while we were there & one of the guys was standing at the side door, just holding it open even when the other guys weren't going through it & it was pretty chilly so all the tables right there were getting slammed with gusts of cold air & the kid didn't seem to care & then they were setting up directly in front of the only way to get to the bathroom. So, you had to walk through their stuff to get to them. They definitely had more than enough room there to move some stuff over to prevent customers from having to walk through their stuff & they seemed pretty rude. When people were walking up to go to the bathroom, they would all just stop & give everyone dirty looks. The same with the shorter guy holding the door open the whole time. I'm not even sure of the bands name because we finished our dinner before they even started. It was April 9, 2022. They didn't influence how we felt about the restaurant, though we would go back a million times over, but probably would make sure that particular group isn't playing. We were going to continue to drink & listen to them, but after seeing how rude they were, we decided to leave.

The 28th St. Pit-n-Pub Smokehouse delivers in both service and the menu. My family and I were starving but finding a restaurant with a decent children's menus is a little difficult. This place had a great variety of items on the children's menu, think: Mac and Cheese, pizza, quesadilla, grilled cheese and much more. The overall menu is simple and ticks off the list of good BBQ plates and side dishes, too many to mention but the favorites of the night: hush puppies (tastes maple-y sweet), collard greens (so flavorful and smokey) and the Mac and Cheese (gooey and rich). Can't speak for the rest of the side options but I'm sure it's all good. The two-boneless pork chops served over mashed potatoes and gravy (so good), great color on the chops and that gravy was delicious. Made the mashed quite creamy. Very rich. The beef brisket entree served with a slice of white bread, sauce on the brisket and two sides. Hush puppies for the win!! Brisket was good, especially the smaller cuts. The large pieces were a little more dry. A pound of pork ribs (our waitress Erin, selected that over the Carolina pulled pork so I trusted her recommendation). It was very, very tender. Fell right off the bone. The meat was really juicy on the bone side. Top side had a little too much char for my liking but the flavors were on point. Collard greens and mac and cheese were my two sides. Dessert, the one and only option that night: funnel cake fries. They were awesome. We all love funnel cake so this was a great sharing dessert. Tasted like classic funnel cake at the fairs only better! Here, everyone gets their own fry. Drizzle of powdered sugar. Simply delicious. Great local find. Not to mention the awesome decor. Looked like record covers or vinyl album covers that lined the ceiling. Lots of TV's at the bar and plenty of high top seating for the drinking crowd. We opted to dine in the booths as it was quieter. Loved the energy in this place.

Me and my BF just came to eat here. We came here back in 2022 so not sure how much has changed but the first time we came here it was amazing. The portions were decent and the food quality was great. Now we’re back in 2025, and our drinks tasted like mouthwash, there was no soap in the men’s bathroom for my BF to wash his hands, then when we got our food the meat was full of grease to the point where the bread was absolutely soaked. The portions were also way smaller than the last time we were here. I’ve literally had portions bigger in the county jail than this place. We brought our concerns to our server in a polite manner to which she insisted she’s worked here for 7 years and that the portions and food quality has always been the same. I already felt shy and uncomfortable about bringing up my concerns. Server didn’t offer to make it right at all. As someone who works in the restaurant industry myself, if I have a guest complain about their food I offer to make it right, which was not done for my BF and I. For $60 I’m highly disappointed. I would put the servers name but on our receipt it just says “BAR” which is highly unprofessional in my opinion. We will not be back. Beware, unless you’re so wasted you can’t taste the difference, I would not eat here.
