32 Palm — Restaurant in Ocean City

My family and I recently spent a week at the Hilton Suites for vacation. The 32 Plam Restaurant is located inside and they cater room service.

Our first night there we were so tired from the drive we decided to order room service. The meals arrived in a timely manner however we were disappointed. The filet mignon was undercooked (ordered medium but the center was raw and blue). Also the wild mushroom ragout was congealed. My husband's mashed potatoes were barely warm and I would swear they were instant. The plating was sloppy.

The next morning we decided to give them another try for breakfast. First - on our way to the restaurant, I stopped to use the bathroom which was located right next to the hostess counter for the restaurant. When I went inside there was a young lady in there taking "selfies" in the mirror on her phone. I finished using the restroom and as we approached the hostess stand, there she was, the "selfie" girl! So, instead of doing her job, while on the clock, she was hiding out in the bathroom playing on her phone. Then, as we were being seated we passed by a kitchen door that was open and sure enough, we witnessed 3 other employees standing there...on their phones!!

We ordered typical breakfast items and waited. When the food arrived, the scrambled eggs were so well done, underneath they were brown. They were not soft and fluffy. It felt like I was chewing on rubber. Another issue we had was the very large sausage links were undercooked. (pink in the centers). Everyone knows you can't eat undercooked pork. According to my family, the bacon was the only thing that was done right.

If you are wanting a great breakfast we suggest getting in your car and driving elsewhere. I recommend the Sahara Cafe at 1901 North Baltimore. The restaurant is dated and cluttered but they are rated #1 in OC for breakfast...and their Eggs Benedict is fantastic!

For a perfect dinner, we recommend The Hobbit Restaurant at 121 81st street. It's probably a good idea if you make reservations ahead of time. They are pricey but worth every single penny!

It's a real shame Plam...the Hilton is a fabulous place to stay with the best customer service. You reflect...

Ok yes you basically you get a discount coupon when you check in Hilton. The discount is good for dinner every day you stay there. Wife and I were hungry and decided to go to 32 Palm. We have ordered room service from them multiple times on our stays here but never ate in the restaurant. We enter and are seated our server sorry I did not get her name my apologies. We were giving the lunch menu and was shown the dinner menu just in case we want to return.

We order our drinks Pina Colada for my wife I am feeling grown people I ordered a Heineken. Drinks are prepared at the bar 10 feet from us. Food order is placed crab cake of course what do you think we are in Maryland. I on the other hand ordered the barbecue pork sandwich. Crab cake looked good enough I didn't cause I don't eat crabs. Wife said the flavor was great asked was it bread crumbs she said no lump crab meat. The barbecue pork sandwich is on a roll with a grilled slice of pineapple. The pork is seasoned nicely I even used my finger to not miss no pork. Yes people I was a well manner salvage my fries a bit salty but dust the salt off they were crispy. Now that was lunch later we do dinner.

It was around 7pm we wanted dinner off to 32 Palm we go. Steak and surf is ordered by my wife steak and cake by me. Medium well for wife medium rare for me people my steak was perfect I had to wipe away some water that came from my eye. Now I am not allergic to shell fish I just don't eat them. The crab cake was good but I didn't eat gave it to my wife. Vegetables and mashed potatoes are good key lime pie is ordered for dessert. 32 Palm you make a damn good steak seared to seal in the juices perfect just damn perfect.
