Barn 34 — Restaurant in Ocean City

I'll start off by saying I have eaten here a bunch of times before and really liked the place and food BUT slowly things have gone down hill.

3 of us Got there before 8am..greeted at the door and seated right away. Server came over and greeted us..told us what the specials were and then took our drink orders. At the time a table of 8 was seated beside us.. they had their drinks and apps before we had gotten our drinks and order taken. Our server came back and took our orders..I ordered a big wave eggs over medium, crispy bacon and French toast along with the 2 other orders at the table. So now we sit and wait.. as we see other customers getting food and drinks left and right we continue to wait.. our server comes back twice offering coffee to the one person at the table drinking coffee..they then say the kitchen is backed up so it's taking a little longer. After another 10 mins the food comes out. Mine was wrong and came out with pancakes, bacon was not crispy and eggs were runny and not over medium. I tell the food runner it was supposed to come with French toast..he apologized and said he would take care of it. He comes back with the French toast and it cold and mushy on the inside.. The food had no flavor unlike the previous times I ate here Food was hot and good tasting. ALOT of food got wasted and thrown away because it was not good. My thing is if the kitchen is backed up then the food would of been hot and what I ask for when it came out. I think the place has gotten so big the food has fallen to the waste side and if the kitchen is/was backed up then they are sacrificing quality to get the food out faster to accommodate customers. I want to start off and saying that the appetizers at this restaurant were good however the main meal were horrid… My husband had the fried chicken steak. It was so tough. He couldn’t cut it. The gravy was congealed and you could tell that it was put in a microwave… The green beans were Delmonte green beans out of a can they were horrible. The potatoes were good, but I’m sure they were probably part of the breakfast menu and they were hot out of the microwave. You can tell microwave food…My daughter ordered an orange crush I can tell you there was no way it was an orange crush that was sunny D with some kind of garbage inside. We had stopped at Big Pecker for drinks and she had an Orange Crush made the correct way God knows what it was, but I can tell you now the bartender does not know how to make drinks at all. He needs to go back to school and learn.!! My daughters boyfriend had the market seafood for the day unfortunately that wasn’t good seafood because we could smell it coming when you can smell seafood you know that your seafood is bad and his was bad and another thing it was microwaved it was so Piping hot that he could not even eat it and he also has the Del Monte green beans!!! I had the fried green tomatoes now they were good however I Ordered French onion soup that was burnt. It was black onion soup is not. I never give a bad review This was the worst that we have and we do a lot of going out to eat. We would’ve been safe and going to Denny’s restaurant then giving these people the kind of money that we gave them. If I could give this place a zero I would just horrible absolutely...

The first time I went to Barn 34 I would have given them 3 stars because my eggs were really runny. However, I went back a second time and if you ask you shall receive. I asked for my eggs cooked hard and I was in heaven. Now onto the review.

Our meal started off with water in a fancy bottle to be poured into our glasses. oooo lol

For an appetizer we got the Fried Green Tomatoes. They were perfectly golden and crunchy. The tomatoes were sliced to perfection to give the right amount of creaminess in the center. I highly recommend.

On the menu that day was Bloody Mary Special, which came topped with shrimp, crab and bacon. It was delicious. The bacon seemed as if it were infinity bacon because when I pulled it out of the glass it just kept coming. There were two infinity slices of bacon in the glass. lol. Oh the alcohol was Vodka and George's Bloody Mary Mix.

I ordered the Crabby Eggs (which were MKT price because of the crab). It consisted of scrambled eggs, crab, cream cheese topped with dill. You also have your choice home fries or grits. I chose cheesy grits. I was in heaven.

My daughter got the Avocado Benedict. It consisted of an English muffin topped with poached eggs, avocado and a hollandaise sauce. I believe crab was on it but I'm not sure. She said it was delicious.

My BFF got the Jalapeño Popper Omelet. It was on a special menu that day. It was an omelet with jalapeños and cream cheese. It looked to be topped with shredded cheese. She really enjoyed it.

Our server, the atmosphere and company were great.
